Job summary

YGF Manufacturing in Selangor is seeking a capable Mid-Level Food Technologist to join our delivery team. This hands-on NPD role spans food, beverage and supplement categories, supporting multiple client projects from concept through to trial.

You will own projects with minimal supervision, communicate with clients and manufacturers, and ensure formulations meet regulatory and commercial requirements while aligning with production capabilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Food Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 3-5 years of hands-on food technology or NPD experience in a manufacturing or product development environment.
• Demonstrated experience across more than one product category (e.g. beverages, snacks, supplements, sauces, bakery, confectionery).
• Working knowledge of Australian/US food regulations ideal.
• Strong documentation habits — accurate, structured, and audit-ready.
• Ability to manage multiple active projects concurrently without dropping detail.
• Good communication skills in English.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, commercially driven environment where timelines and margins matter.

Responsibilities

• Lead formulation development across multiple product categories including food, beverage, functional supplements, and other assigned SKUs
• Manage NPD projects from brief through to commercial trial sign-off, coordinating with manufacturers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders
• Conduct ingredient research, supplier sourcing, and feasibility assessments for new product concepts
• Prepare and review product specifications, Bill of Materials (BOM), and formulation documentation
• Support label development and ensure compliance with Australian and US food regulations
• Conduct and document sensory evaluations, trials, and stability assessments
• Liaise with contract manufacturers to align formulations with existing production capabilities and equipment constraints
• Manage sample submissions, trial feedback loops, and iteration cycles through to approval
• Maintain accurate and organised project records across all active NPD files
• Support the NPD Manager with project planning, timelines, and milestone tracking

We work with brand founders to take products from concept through to commercial production, managing formulation, compliance, supplier coordination, and scale-up. We are expanding our delivery operations into Malaysia and this role sits at the heart of that build-out.

About the Role

We are looking for a capable, commercially aware Mid-Level Food Technologist to join our growing Selangor-based delivery team. This is a hands-on NPD role with broad category exposure — you will be working across food, beverage, and supplement product types simultaneously, supporting multiple client projects at various stages of development.
