Job summary

SENG WEI TRANSPORT SDN BHD in Johor invites applications for a Logistics Planner role. You will plan daily shipment and delivery schedules, assign tasks to drivers, monitor progress and ensure on-time delivery, coordinating with internal teams to prepare transport arrangements.

You will operate GPS tracking, communicate with drivers and clients, resolve delays, analyse routes for efficiency, maintain shipment records and support continuous improvement in transport planning.

Job description

1. Shipment Planning and Delivery Coordination

• Plan, arrange and coordinate daily shipment and delivery schedules to ensure smooth and timely operations.
• Assign daily tasks to drivers and provide clear instructions on delivery routes, timing and job requirements.
• Monitor driver progress and follow up closely to ensure delivery schedules are properly completed.
• Coordinate with internal teams to ensure transport arrangements are accurate and ready before delivery.

2. Driver and Fleet Monitoring

• Monitor truck movements using GPS / GPRS tracking systems.
• Track vehicle location, delivery progress and route movement to ensure efficiency and on-time delivery.
• Communicate with drivers to provide updates, instructions and support when needed.
• Identify delays, route issues or operational problems and take immediate action to minimise disruption.

3. Client Communication and Service Support

• Communicate with clients on shipment requirements, delivery arrangements and transport updates.
• Provide real-time delivery status updates to clients when required.
• Handle client enquiries professionally and ensure proper follow-up on operational matters.
• Support the company in maintaining reliable service quality and customer satisfaction.

4. Operational Problem Solving

• Respond quickly to daily operational issues, including delivery delays, route changes, truck breakdowns or urgent client requests.
• Work closely with drivers, workshop team and management to resolve transport issues efficiently.
• Liaise with the workshop team to manage vehicle breakdowns, repair updates and downtime planning.
• Support alternative arrangements when necessary to ensure delivery commitments are met.

5. Performance Tracking and Cost Efficiency

• Track delivery performance and monitor operational efficiency.
• Analyse route data, truck usage and delivery progress to support better planning.
• Assist in identifying ways to optimise transport costs, reduce delays and improve fleet utilisation.
• Provide operational feedback to support continuous improvement in logistics planning.

6. Documentation and Reporting

• Maintain accurate records of shipments, delivery schedules, driver assignments and operational updates.
• Prepare daily reports, delivery records, transport documents and other logistics-related documentation.
• Ensure all operational records are properly filed and updated.
• Assist management with reports and data required for operational review.

7. General Operations Support

• Support continuous improvement in transport planning, logistics coordination and daily operations.
• Work closely with the operations team, drivers, workshop team and management.
• Follow company procedures, safety requirements and service standards.
• Perform any other ad hoc duties as assigned by management.
