Job summary

TSH Resources Berhad seeks a Fleet & Machinery Modernization Specialist to oversee strategic sourcing, lifecycle management, and upgrading of heavy equipment across estates and mill operations.

You will drive efficiency through IoT telematics, EV transition, and maintenance optimization, focusing on uptime and cost control. Travel to remote estates in Malaysia, Indonesia, and other sites may be required. You will lead with data-driven decisions and work with OEM partners.

Qualifications

• Degree in mechanical or related technical field required.
• 4–5+ years in heavy equipment management within estates, palm oil mills, construction, or mining.
• Experience with IoT/telematics, spare parts control, uptime optimization, and EV/charging infrastructure.
• Strong data-driven negotiation and vendor management skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan, right-size, and allocate fleet requirements across estates and mills covering farm tractors, dump trucks, backhoes, excavators, and processing machinery.
• Monitor operating hours, running costs, and maintenance expenses to execute timely replacements for units exceeding 5 years or high repair costs.
• Deploy and manage IoT tracking and telematics systems to monitor real-time fuel efficiency and equipment health.
• Design, implement, and monitor preventive and predictive maintenance programs to maximize uptime.
• Audit and manage spare parts inventory levels and SLA adherence to prevent downtime.
• Source, evaluate, and integrate advanced technologies (digital platforms, automation) to drive productivity.
• Negotiate and enforce SLAs, maintenance contracts, warranty terms, and OEM support.
• Define maintenance strategy for in-house repairs versus outsourcing complex overhauls.
• Lead modernization toward EVs and low-emission equipment across estates and mills.
• Plan and manage EV charging stations and supporting infrastructure across sites.
• Collaborate with external transport contractors to meet EV standards and reliability.

Fleet & Machinery Modernization Specialist

The Fleet & Machinery Modernization Manager will oversee the strategic sourcing, lifecycle management, and technological upgrading of heavy equipment and machinery across all estate and mill operations. This role drives operational efficiency and maximum asset uptime for farm tractors, dump trucks, and heavy machinery. The manager will optimize fleet replacement cycles, oversee spare parts strategies, implement IoT telematics for performance monitoring, and lead the transition toward fleet electrification (EV) and infrastructure setup.

Key responsibilities

Plan, right-size, and allocate fleet requirements across estates and mills—specifically covering farm tractors, dump trucks, backhoes, excavators, and processing machinery. Monitor operating hours, running costs, and maintenance expenses to execute timely replacements for units exceeding 5 years or exhibiting high repair costs.

Deploy and manage IoT tracking and telematics systems across the fleet to monitor real-time fuel efficiency, track equipment health, and ensure all units are operating optimally and correctly within designated zones.

Design, implement, and monitor rigorous preventive and predictive maintenance programs across all workshops to ensure maximum operational uptime for all field and mill assets.

Audit and manage spare parts inventory levels, establish critical spare parts lists (fast-moving vs. slow-moving), and ensure optimal stocking levels to prevent machine downtime due to part shortages.

Source, evaluate, and integrate advanced technologies (including digital platforms and automated systems) in farm tractors, heavy machinery, and mill equipment to drive productivity and estate mechanization.

Negotiate and enforce Service Level Agreements (SLAs), service maintenance contracts, warranty terms, and principal support to guarantee fast technical turnarounds and OEM-backed maintenance quality.

Define the maintenance strategy for internal workshop repairs versus outsourcing complex overhauls and technical servicing to 3rd-party specialists or OEM principals.

Direct the strategy to modernize and convert traditional diesel farm tractors, dump trucks, and haulage vehicles to Electric Vehicles (EV) and low-emission equipment.

Plan, execute, and manage the setup of dedicated EV charging stations, power distribution systems, and supporting infrastructure across estate sites and mill hubs.

Work directly with external transport contractors to align their haulage fleets with the company's EV modernization standards and maintenance reliability expectations.

About you

Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Agriculture/Bioprocess Engineering, or equivalent technical discipline.

4~5+ years of experience in heavy equipment management, fleet operations, or machinery maintenance within agricultural estates, palm oil mills, construction, or mining environments.

Deep knowledge of heavy machinery maintenance, IoT/telematics systems for fleet monitoring, spare parts control, uptime optimization, fleet replacement economics, and emerging commercial EV/charging infrastructure.

Strong track record in data-driven vendor negotiation, SLA enforcement, OEM relationship management, and spare parts inventory strategy.

Willingness to travel to remote estate locations in Indonesia & Malaysia.

Experience using Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS), SAP/ERP maintenance modules, Fleet Management GPS Systems, and Microsoft Excel for reporting.
