Private Advertiser in Malaysia seeks a Maintenance & Reliability leader to own and optimize the CMMS, drive mechanical maintenance and reliability programs, and mentor a technical team. You will manage budgets, vendor relationships, and ensure safety, regulatory compliance, and CAPEX coordination across plant operations, with a focus on minimizing downtime and sustaining production efficiency.
Candidates should have a strong background in rotating equipment, hydraulics, pneumatics, and TPM/RCM
This is a Maintenance & Reliability Leadership role responsible for owning and optimizing the CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System), leading mechanical maintenance and reliability programs, managing a technical team, overseeing budgets and vendor relationships, and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards across industrial/manufacturing operations.
Act as the primary owner for the CMMS, ensuring accurate asset registration, maintenance scheduling, and historical data logging
Analyze equipment history, failure data, and MTBF/MTTR metrics to improve maintenance strategies
Develop, implement, and monitor Preventive (PM) and Predictive Maintenance (PdM) programs to minimize breakdowns
Lead troubleshooting efforts for complex mechanical failures, including rotating equipment, hydraulic systems, pneumatics, and conveyors
Plan and coordinate weekly, monthly, and annual maintenance shutdowns to ensure minimal disruption to production
Coordinate plant shutdowns, major overhauls, and capital projects (CAPEX) to ensure timely, high-quality completion
Lead, mentor and provide training to contract farmers and own farm teams in Maintenance and Reliability
Develop and manage the annual maintenance budget (OPEX) and track expenses
Manage external contractors and vendors for specialized maintenance work, ensuring SLA compliance
Support compliance with Department of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH) and environmental regulations
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related technical field
Minimum 10-12 years of experience in industrial/manufacturing maintenance, with at least 3 years in a leadership role
Deep understanding of industrial mechanical systems (hydraulics, pneumatics, rotating equipment, ACMV) and facility maintenance
Hands-on experience with CMMS software (e.g., SAP, Maximo, MP2, Maintenance Connection, MOM-EM Manufacturing Operations Management – Equipment Management Module)
Strong knowledge of safety regulations (OSHA), lock-out/tag-out procedures, and risk management
Proven ability to motivate, lead, and develop a technical team
Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing stakeholder communication under pressure
Experience in a process-driven industry (e.g., food, automotive) preferred
Knowledge of Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) or Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) preferred
PMP or similar project management certification preferred
