Job summary

Riann Trading Sdn. Bhd. in Sarawak seeks an experienced Operations Manager to lead workshop operations, machinery leasing, and field service. You will oversee daily operations, coordinate maintenance, and drive safety and productivity targets.

The role requires a Diploma or Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering or related fields, with 5+ years in operations. Strong leadership, communication, and negotiation skills are essential; travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Operations Management, Business Administration, or related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years' experience in operations management, workshop management, machinery leasing, construction equipment, engineering, or heavy equipment industries.
• Strong technical knowledge of heavy machinery, equipment maintenance, repair processes, and workshop operations.
• Experience in machinery leasing, service operations, preventive maintenance, and fleet/equipment management an added advantage.
• Good understanding of commercial agreements, including leasing and service agreements and contract administration.
• Strong leadership, decision-making, planning, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Possess a valid driving licence and willing to travel when required.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the daily operations of the workshop, machinery leasing, field service, logistics, and support teams.
• Plan, coordinate, and monitor machinery delivery, servicing, preventive maintenance, repairs, and equipment availability.
• Ensure workshop operations achieve productivity, quality, and safety targets.
• Develop and implement operational policies, procedures, and SOPs.
• Monitor machinery utilization, service schedules, downtime, and maintenance performance.
• Prepare, review, negotiate, and administer machinery leasing agreements, service agreements, and operational contracts.
• Coordinate with customers, suppliers, contractors, and government authorities.
• Prepare operational budgets, control costs, and improve operational efficiency.
• Analyse operational performance and recommend continuous improvement initiatives.
• Lead, coach, and develop employees to achieve department and company objectives.
• Submit operational reports and KPIs to Management.

We are looking for an experienced and proactive Operations Manager to lead our operations team, improve efficiency, and support our business expansion.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage the daily operations of the workshop, machinery leasing, field service, logistics, and support teams.

Plan, coordinate, and monitor machinery delivery, servicing, preventive maintenance, repairs, and equipment availability.

Ensure workshop operations achieve productivity, quality, and safety targets.

Develop and implement operational policies, procedures, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

Monitor machinery utilization, service schedules, downtime, and maintenance performance.

Prepare, review, negotiate, and administer machinery leasing agreements, service agreements, and operational contracts.

Coordinate with customers, suppliers, contractors, and relevant government authorities.

Prepare operational budgets, control operating costs, and improve operational efficiency.

Analyse operational performance and recommend continuous improvement initiatives.

Lead, coach, and develop employees to achieve departmental and company objectives.

Submit operational reports and KPIs to Management.

Requirements
