Job summary

PH Uni Palm Sdn Bhd in Malaysia is seeking a skilled maintenance technician to perform routine and breakdown maintenance on mill machinery, diagnose faults, replace worn components, and execute PM as per plan.

You will conduct inspections, monitor equipment condition, apply lubrication, support shutdown activities, and maintain accurate maintenance records, ensuring safety and using MYPALM app daily.

Qualifications

• Experience performing routine and breakdown maintenance on mill machinery.
• Ability to diagnose mechanical faults and carry out repairs.
• Familiar with preventive maintenance planning and documentation.
• Comfort with measuring tools and condition monitoring.
• Strong commitment to safety procedures and PPE usage.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and breakdown maintenance on mill machinery.
• Diagnose mechanical faults and carry out corrective repairs.
• Replace worn or damaged components (bearings, seals, chains, couplings).
• Execute scheduled preventive maintenance (PM) as per plan.
• Conduct regular inspection and condition monitoring of equipment.
• Lubrication of machinery and moving parts.
• Assist in shutdown maintenance activities.
• Carry out basic fabrication work (cutting, grinding, fitting).
• Install and align machinery and mechanical components.
• Modify equipment to improve performance or reliability.
• Identify root causes of mechanical failures.
• Propose improvements to reduce downtime and maintenance cost.
• Record maintenance activities in logbooks.

• Perform routine and breakdown maintenance on mill machinery:
• Diagnose mechanical faults and carry out corrective repairs.
• Replace worn or damaged components (bearings, seals, chains, couplings).
• Execute scheduled preventive maintenance (PM) as per plan.
• Conduct regular inspection and condition monitoring of equipment.
• Lubrication of machinery and moving parts.
• Assist in shutdown maintenance activities.
• Carry out basic fabrication work (cutting, grinding, fitting).
• Install and align machinery and mechanical components.
• Modify equipment to improve performance or reliability.
• Identify root causes of mechanical failures.
• Propose improvements to reduce downtime and maintenance cost.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives in the mill.
• Follow all safety procedures and use PPE properly.
• Ensure tools and equipment are used safely.
• Comply with DOSH and company safety regulations.
• Maintain good housekeeping in workshop and plant areas.
• Maintain tools in good condition and ensure proper storage.
• Use measuring tools (vernier calliper, measuring tape, vibration meter)
• Ensure availability of spare parts and report shortages.
• Record maintenance activities in logbooks.
• Report breakdowns and repair status to supervisor.
• Assist in preparing maintenance reports.
• Follow Safety Procedure to avoid any accidents.
• Fully utilise MYPALM application in daily basis (To update preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance).
