Job summary

Jora Malaysia is seeking a Maintenance Manager to oversee all maintenance activities ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient operation of machinery, equipment, facilities and utilities. You will lead the maintenance team, develop preventive and corrective programs, control costs and minimize downtime.

You will plan, supervise and optimize maintenance strategies, monitor performance, manage spare parts and budgets, and drive continuous improvement across maintenance operations.

Qualifications

• Experience managing maintenance teams and programs.
• Proven ability to develop preventive and predictive maintenance plans.
• Track record reducing downtime and maintenance costs.

Responsibilities

• Plan, schedule, and supervise preventive, predictive, corrective, and breakdown maintenance.
• Ensure machinery and equipment are maintained in good operating condition.
• Monitor equipment performance and identify potential failures before they occur.
• Reduce downtime and improve overall equipment reliability.
• Develop and maintain preventive maintenance schedules.
• Lead, supervise, and develop maintenance technicians, engineers, and contractors.
• Allocate daily maintenance tasks and monitor completion.
• Conduct training and performance evaluations for maintenance staff.
• Establish manpower coverage for production and emergencies.
• Lead investigations of major breakdowns and perform root cause analysis.
• Implement corrective actions and attendance to breakdowns to minimize losses.
• Maintain records of failures, repairs, and downtime.
• Develop maintenance strategies based on criticality and operating conditions.
• Review maintenance history and trends to identify improvements.
• Manage maintenance spare parts, tools, and consumables.
• Prepare and control the maintenance budget and monitor expenditures.

The Maintenance Manager leads the maintenance team, develops preventive and corrective maintenance programs, controls maintenance costs, and minimizes equipment downtime.

Key Responsibilities1. Maintenance Management

• Plan, schedule, and supervise preventive, predictive, corrective, and breakdown maintenance.
• Ensure all machinery and equipment are maintained in good operating condition.
• Monitor equipment performance and identify potential failures before they occur.
• Reduce equipment downtime and improve overall equipment reliability.
• Develop and maintain preventive maintenance schedules.

2. Team Management

• Lead, supervise, and develop maintenance technicians, engineers, and contractors.
• Allocate daily maintenance tasks and monitor work completion.
• Conduct training and competency development for maintenance personnel.
• Establish clear performance standards and conduct performance evaluations.
• Ensure adequate manpower coverage for production and emergency requirements.

3. Troubleshooting & Breakdown Management

• Lead investigations of major equipment breakdowns and recurring failures.
• Perform root cause analysis (RCA) and implement corrective actions.
• Ensure breakdowns are attended to promptly to minimize production losses.
• Maintain records of equipment failures, repairs, and downtime.

4. Preventive & Predictive Maintenance

• Develop maintenance strategies based on equipment criticality and operating conditions.
• Monitor preventive maintenance compliance.
• Introduce predictive maintenance techniques where appropriate.
• Review maintenance history and trends to identify improvement opportunities.

5. Spare Parts & Cost Control

• Manage maintenance spare parts, tools, and consumables.
• Maintain appropriate minimum and maximum stock levels for critical spare parts.
• Prepare and control the maintenance budget.
• Monitor maintenance expenditure and identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Evaluate suppliers, contractors, and maintenance service providers.
