Our client is an established company involved in the timber industries. They are currently seeking a Finance Manager to join their team in Kuantan, Pahang.
Reporting to the CFO and working closely with senior management, this position will oversee the company’s finance and accounting operations. The main areas of responsibility include full-set accounts, treasury, financial reporting, tax and audit matters.
This is a full-time, fully office-based position.
Key responsibilities
- Oversee the company’s full set of accounts and day-to-day accounting operations
- Ensure the timely and accurate preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements and reports
- Review general ledger entries, journal entries, reconciliations and supporting financial records
- Prepare and monitor budgets, forecasts and financial plans
- Analyse financial performance, variances and areas for improvement
- Manage cash flow, treasury activities, banking relationships and working capital
- Ensure timely payments to vendors, employees and statutory authorities
- Handle LHDN, taxation and other regulatory matters
- Coordinate with external auditors and ensure audit requirements are completed on time
- Develop and maintain appropriate financial controls, policies and procedures
- Lead, guide and supervise the Finance and Accounts team
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to support management decisions
- Support financial modelling, cost analysis, pricing and investment evaluations when required
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field
- Professional qualification such as ACCA, CPA or CMA would be an advantage
- At least 5–7 years of relevant experience in finance or accounting, including at least two years in a managerial or supervisory capacity
- Strong full-set accounting knowledge is essential
- Approximately 3–5 years of treasury experience
- Hands‑on experience in financial reporting, cash‑flow management, taxation and audit
- Sound understanding of basic accounting principles, including debit and credit entries
- Knowledge of Malaysian accounting standards and statutory requirements
- Familiarity with UBS accounting software would be an advantage
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting systems
- Able to communicate in Chinese to liaise with Chinese‑speaking management
- Strong leadership, analytical and problem‑solving abilities
- Detail-oriented, responsible and able to work independently
