Job Overview
The Finance Manager (Head of Department) will oversee all financial, accounting, and strategic fiscal operations for the local entity. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring a candidate who can actively manage daily operations while leading a small finance team. You will drive financial accuracy, ensure compliance, and act as a strategic partner to leadership, directly reporting to the Country Head with a dotted line to the Group CFO.
Key Responsibilities
Team Management: Lead, mentor, and supervise a small finance team, ensuring accuracy in day-to-day operations.
Daily Operations: Roll up your sleeves to support AP/AR, general ledger, payroll review, and cash flow tracking when needed.
Review & Approval: Oversee and approve reconciliations, tax filings, and vendor payments.
Dual Reporting: Deliver timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements to the Country Head and Group CFO.
Consolidation: Align local accounting practices with Group standards and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
Tax & Audit: Main point of contact for external auditors, tax authorities, and banks; ensure 100% local statutory compliance.
Strategy & Business Partnership
Budgeting & Forecasting: Partner with the Country Head to build annual budgets and rolling financial forecasts.
Variance Analysis: Analyze financial performance against targets and provide actionable insights to optimize costs.
Cash Management: Monitor and optimize local working capital and cash flow efficiency.
Experience: Minimum 5–8 years of progressive accounting/finance experience, with at least 2+ years in a supervisory or team-lead capacity.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Certification: Professional qualification (e.g., ACCA, CPA, CIMA, or MIA) is highly preferred.
Technical Skills
ERP Proficiency: Strong hands-on experience with accounting software and ERPs (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, or Microsoft Dynamics).
Frameworks: Solid understanding of local tax laws (corporate tax, withholding tax, SST/GST) and IFRS.
