Job summary

Randstad Malaysia is seeking a Financial Controller to lead the month-end and year-end closing cycles for manufacturing and sales operations. You will prepare comprehensive management reports with variance analysis and supervise a small finance team to ensure data integrity.

The role requires IFRS knowledge, solid ERP experience (SAP/Oracle/NetSuite), and 4–5 years of financial reporting and leadership. You will partner with regional heads on budgeting, CapEx reviews, and tax compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or equivalent with professional qualifications (ACCA/CPA/MIA/CIMA) advantageous.
• Minimum 4–5 years of progressive experience in core accounting, financial reporting, and team management.
• Strong hands-on experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite).
• Up-to-date knowledge of IFRS and Malaysian statutory tax regulations.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

Financial & Management Reporting

• Closing Cycles: Lead the month-end and year-end closing cycles for both the manufacturing operations and the sales office within strict timelines.
• Performance Analysis: Prepare comprehensive monthly management reporting packages, delivering deep‑dive variance analysis (actual vs. budget/forecast) on domestic business performance.
• Team Leadership: Supervise, mentor, and review the day‑to‑day deliverables of one Accountant and one Accounts Executive to ensure data integrity.

Treasury Operations

• Cash Management: Oversee regional working capital, optimize liquidity, and continuously monitor short‑and long‑term cash flow forecasts.
• Banking & Funding: Manage corporate banking relationships, execute fund transfers, oversee local facilities.

Budgeting & Financial Forecasting

• Financial Planning: Coordinate the annual corporate budgeting process and drive monthly/quarterly rolling financial forecasts across the sales and plant structures.
• Operational Partnership: Partner closely with site operational heads and sales leads to track capital expenditure (CapEx) and align strategic goals with financial realities.

Compliance & External Audit

• Governance: Ensure all accounting and ledger entries comply with IFRS standards, corporate governance policies, and local tax laws (including corporate tax and indirect taxes/SST).
• Audit Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for external auditors, tax agents, and statutory bodies to ensure smooth, timely filings.

Job Requirements

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or an equivalent field. Professional qualifications (e.g., ACCA, CPA, MIA, CIMA, or equivalent) are highly advantageous.
• Experience: Minimum of 4–5 years of progressive experience in core accounting, financial reporting, and team management.
• Technical Skills: Strong hands‑on experience navigating and extracting data from robust ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite).
• Regulatory Knowledge: Up‑to‑date knowledge of IFRS Accounting Standards, local financial frameworks, and Malaysian statutory tax regulations.
