Beyond Horizon Group in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia seeks a senior finance leader to own the financial management of incubating new business projects. You will develop budgets, monitor performance, provide insights and guide strategic financial decisions.
The role oversees accounting, reporting, controls and cross-functional collaboration, with 5–8 years of finance experience and 3 years of team leadership. Master-level qualifications and Big 4 exposure are valued.
Take full ownership of the financial management of assigned new business projects during the incubation stage, engaging from the project initiation phase and establishing financial management frameworks and accounting systems aligned with the business development stage.
Develop and implement project budgets, monitor budget performance, conduct variance analysis, and provide financial insights to support business growth and strategic adjustments.
Act as the finance lead for assigned projects, working directly with business leaders and Group management to provide professional advice on financial health, cash flow efficiency, profitability and overall financial performance.
Oversee day-to-day accounting activities and supervise the preparation of financial statements to ensure accuracy, compliance and timely submission.
Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports, as well as management reports, to support senior management in business and investment decisions.
Provide stage-specific recommendations on cost control, resource allocation and operational efficiency throughout the incubation and growth stages of the project.
Oversee corporate tax compliance and filings, including but not limited to VAT, Corporate Income Tax and Withholding Tax, ensuring all requirements are met accurately and on time.
Develop and implement appropriate tax planning and risk management strategies to optimize tax costs while maintaining full regulatory compliance.
Establish and continuously improve financial policies, procedures and internal control processes tailored to the needs of new business projects, ensuring alignment with corporate governance standards and external audit requirements.
Lead annual audits and other financial compliance initiatives, coordinating with external auditors, tax authorities and other relevant stakeholders.
Lead, manage and develop the finance team, enhancing professional capabilities, efficiency and overall team performance.
Work closely with Business, HR, Legal, IT and other functions to provide timely financial support, analysis and recommendations throughout the project lifecycle.
Bachelor’s degree or above in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field. A Master’s degree or MBA is preferred.
Big 4 experience is preferred. Professional qualifications such as CPA, ACCA or CMA are highly desirable.
5-8 years of relevant finance experience, including at least 3 years of team management experience. Experience in the gaming, hospitality, technology, internet or other fast-growing industries is preferred.
Proven experience in building finance functions and systems from the ground up, with the ability to independently support new businesses or projects from the incubation stage through to scaling and growth.
Proficient in financial systems such as SAP, Oracle or QuickBooks, with advanced Excel skills. Experience in financial modeling is an advantage.
Strong communication, execution and leadership skills, with the ability to work independently and effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with multiple priorities.
