Job summary

PointStar is seeking an accounting professional to manage daily financial operations and support month-end close procedures in Johor Bahru, Malaysia.

The role requires Mandarin proficiency and a degree in Accounting/Finance, with 3–4 years in Finance. You will prepare reports, assist with tax returns, and liaise with auditors and service providers. A team player capable of independent work is preferred.

Qualifications

• Mandarin proficiency to support Mandarin-speaking clients and partners.
• Independent working capability with minimal supervision.
• Strong communication and follow-up skills.
• Inventory knowledge is required.
• 3–4 years of experience in Finance – General/Consolidation is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day accounting operations including payables, receivables, expenses, and credit control.
• Liaise with departments to close month-end and year-end accounts.
• Assist to prepare timely monthly financial and management reports.
• Assist with annual tax returns and year-end financial audits.
• Liaise with auditor, company secretary, tax agent and payment gateway merchants.
• Maintain filing of accounting documents for record keeping.
• Manage assigned accounting tasks to ensure timely completion.
• Undertake ad-hoc assignments as required by management.
• Ensure accounting systems and controls comply with company policy.
