Job summary

Coherent Malaysia is seeking a data automation specialist to collect, clean, and analyze data across finance, sales, and support functions. You will build Power BI dashboards and Power Platform workflows to automate journal postings, reconciliations, and reporting, while developing finance-focused apps for expense tracking and dashboards.

The role requires strong Excel VBA, Power Automate, Power Apps, and Power BI skills, plus knowledge of finance processes and data management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Finance, Accounting, Business Analytics, or related discipline.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in finance systems, data analytics, process automation, or business process improvement (or equivalent).
• Exposure to both finance operations and IT-enabled solutions (automation, reporting systems, or data platforms) is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Collect, clean, and analyze data from multiple sources to generate actionable insights and support decision-making.
• Develop dashboards using Power BI, Excel, and Power Platform to track KPIs for management reporting.
• Build and maintain workflow automation using Power Automate, including approvals, journal postings, reconciliations, and reporting processes.
• Develop finance-focused applications using Power Apps for expense tracking and performance dashboards.
• Redesign and optimize workflows to reduce manual effort, bottlenecks, and improve efficiency across finance, sales, and support functions.
• Provide post-deployment support for automation and reporting solutions, ensuring stability and continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with finance and business stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver end-to-end automation.
