Job summary

Coherent Corp. Malaysia is seeking an Automation Analyst to develop and optimize finance workflows. You will build automation solutions using Excel VBA/Macros, Power Automate, Power Apps, and Power BI to automate reporting, data consolidation, and KPI tracking.

You will collaborate with finance and IT stakeholders, gather requirements, and deliver end-to-end automation. A Bachelor's degree and at least 2 years in finance analytics or process automation are required, with hybrid work arrangements

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in IT/Finance/Analytics or related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in finance systems, data analytics, automation, or process improvement.
  • Experience with both finance operations and IT-enabled solutions is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Develop automation solutions using Excel VBA/Macros and JavaScript to automate financial reporting, data consolidation, transformations, and workflow processes.
  • Collect, clean, and analyze data from multiple sources (e.g., CRM, finance, marketing) to generate actionable insights and support business decision-making.
  • Develop intuitive dashboards using Power BI, Excel, and Power Platform tools to track KPIs for management reporting.
  • Build and maintain workflow automation using Power Automate, including approvals, journal postings, reconciliations, and reporting processes.
  • Develop finance-focused applications using Power Apps for expense tracking, data submission, and performance dashboards.
  • Redesign and optimize existing workflows to reduce manual effort, bottlenecks, and improve speed, accuracy, and operational efficiency across finance, sales, and support functions.
  • Provide post-deployment support for automation and reporting solutions, ensuring stability, issue resolution, and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with finance and business stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver end-to-end automation.

Education & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Finance, Accounting, Business Analytics, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in finance systems, data analytics, process automation, or business process improvement (or equivalent functional/technical experience).
  • Exposure to both finance operations and IT-enabled solutions (e.g., automation, reporting systems, or data platforms) is an advantage.
Skill
Required:
  • Strong experience in Excel VBA and financial reporting automation.
  • Hands‑on experience with Power Automate in finance‑related workflows.
  • Experience building Power Apps for finance or operational processes.
  • Knowledge of Power BI for financial dashboards and reporting.
  • Experience working with SharePoint for data management and automation integration.
  • Solid understanding of finance processes, including general ledger, reconciliations, journal entries, budgeting, and reporting.
  • Basic understanding of core finance principles and concepts.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills and a process improvement mindset.
Preferred:
  • Experience with Oracle APEX for application and workflow development.
  • Familiarity with Oracle ERP processes, including FBDI (File‑Based Data Import) and ADFDI (ADF Desktop Integration) templates.
  • Familiarity with Dataverse or SQL for financial data management.
