Job summary

Austin Johor Bahru MRD is seeking a senior finance professional to oversee costing, accounting and management reporting in a manufacturing environment. The role requires strong analytical skills, compliance knowledge and leadership of the Accounts & Finance team.

The incumbent will collaborate with Operations, Procurement and Warehouse to ensure accurate costings, budgeting and financial reporting across the plant.

Qualifications

• Degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline.
• ACCA/CIMA/CPA or equivalent is an advantage.
• Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in costing, accounting or management reporting.
• Experience in manufacturing environment preferred.
• Knowledge of regulatory standards, audit, internal controls and tax compliance in Malaysia.

Responsibilities

• Oversee accounting activities and month-end closing.
• Prepare and analyse product profitability, P&L, budgets and cost variances.
• Review invoices and payment proposals to ensure financial controls.
• Oversee product costing, stock valuation and inventory reporting.
• Coordinate with auditors, tax agents and authorities on compliance.
• Monitor inventory adjustments, write-offs and other stock risks.
• Support insurance, risk management and ISO/compliance requirements.
• Supervise the Accounts & Finance team and work with Operations, Procurement and Warehouse.

Job description

• Degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline; ACCA/CIMA/CPA or equivalent is an advantage.
• Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in costing, accounting or management reporting, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience in product costing, stock valuation, inventory control, budgeting and financial analysis.
• Good knowledge of accounting standards, audit, internal controls and Malaysian tax compliance (Income Tax, SST & Withholding Tax).
• Oversee accounting activities, month-end closing, reconciliations and financial reporting.
• Prepare and analyse product profitability, P&L, budgets, forecasts and cost variances.
• Review payment proposals, invoices and supporting documents to ensure proper financial controls.
• Oversee product costing, stock valuation and inventory reporting to ensure accuracy and timely reporting.
• Coordinate with auditors, tax agents and relevant authorities on tax, audit and statutory compliance matters.
• Monitor inventory adjustments, write-offs, slow-moving stock and other inventory risks.
• Support insurance, risk management, internal controls and ISO/compliance requirements.
• Supervise, guide and develop the Accounts & Finance team.
• Work closely with Operations, Procurement, Warehouse and other departments on financial and costing matters.
