Job summary

Our client, a manufacturing company in Senai, Johor, seeks a proactive Finance Assistant Manager to oversee finance and accounting functions, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance, cost control, and process improvements while supporting management in strategic financial planning.

The role requires leading group consolidation, preparing financial statements, managing GL/AP/AR, and coordinating with auditors, tax agents, and regulators.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting/finance or related field.
• Professional qualification such as ACCA/CPA/CIMA preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee group accounting operations, including consolidation and financial reporting.
• Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal policies.
• Manage the general ledger, AP, AR, and fixed assets.
• Coordinate with external auditors, tax agents, bankers, and regulators.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and financial analysis.
• Monitor costing, inventory valuation, and manufacturing variances.
• Strengthen internal controls and accounting procedures.
• Provide guidance and training to junior finance staff.
• Assist management with ad hoc financial projects and business performance analysis.

• Manage the general ledger, accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), and fixed asset functions.
• Coordinate and liaise with external auditors, tax agents, bankers, and regulatory authorities.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and financial analysis activities.
• Monitor costing, inventory valuation, and manufacturing variances to ensure effective cost management.
• Review and strengthen internal controls, accounting procedures, and financial processes.
• Provide guidance, supervision, and training to junior finance team members.
• Assist management with ad hoc financial projects and business performance analysis.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
• Professional accounting qualification such as ACCA, CPA, CIMA, or equivalent is preferred.
• Minimum 5 to 8 years of relevant accounting and finance experience.
• Prior experience in external audit and a manufacturing environment is highly preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting/ERP systems.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Hands-on, accountable, and able to work independently.
