Job summary

Sunway Marketing Sdn Bhd in Malaysia (Selangor) is seeking an early-career accounting professional to manage the full spectrum of financial accounting and reporting, including AR/AP, intercompany, month-end close, and fixed asset accounting. You will independently handle month-end close from journal posting to reporting pack, and perform P&L reviews with variance commentary.

The role requires a Bachelor in Accountancy or ACCA/CPA, at least 2 years of SME accounting experience, strong Excel

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Accountancy, ACCA, CPA or equivalent qualification.
• At least 2 years of accounting or finance administration experience in SME.
• A problem solver, who can work in an unstructured and complex environment.
• Team player, possess positive working attitude, pro-active and independent contributor.
• Proficient in Excel and other analytical/presentation skills.
• Possess strong analytical skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment and manage tight deadlines.
• Familiar with Accounts Payable (AP), PO & supplier invoice processing, and payment coordination is an added advantage.
• Good understanding of finance functions, i.e. AP, GL, and basic accounting principles.

Responsibilities

• In charge of the full spectrum of financial accounting and reporting function (including AR / AP / Interco, Month-end close, fixed asset accounting).
• Handle month-end close activities independently from journal posting to preparing reporting pack.
• Perform P&L review and analysis. Provide commentary for accounts that have significant changes and investigate account with unusual balances.
