Job summary

SY Plastic Industries Sdn Bhd is seeking a seasoned accountant to manage a full spectrum of accounting functions, including AR, AP, GL and costing. You will perform monthly and yearly closings, prepare essential financial statements, and ensure records comply with accounting standards.

The role requires 5–8 years of accounting experience and fluency in Mandarin to liaise with Mandarin-speaking customers. Prior exposure to Multics Payroll, SQL, EMAS, ERP systems, and MS Office is essential.

• Manage and maintain full spectrum of accounting functions (AR, AP, GL, costing).
• Perform monthly/yearly closings including JVs, accruals, reconciliations, and inventory reclassification.
• Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow).
• Ensure records compliant with accounting standards and properly maintained.

Job description

• Manage and maintain full spectrum of accounting functions, including Accounts Receivable (AR), Accounts Payable (AP), General Ledger (GL), and Costing functions, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Perform hands-on monthly and yearly financial closing activities, including journal vouchers (JVs), accruals, reconciliations, and inventory reclassification.
• Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements, including Profit & Loss Statement, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow Statement.
• Ensure all accounting records are maintained in proper order and updated timely in compliance with accounting standards.

2. Costing & Business Analysis

• Conduct cost analysis and business performance analysis to identify profit generation opportunities, pricing efficiency, and cost optimization.
• Prepare and analyze reports on inventory cost fluctuations, manufacturing cost variances, and inventory-related variances for management and company partners.
• Monitor and analyze operational costs to support business decision-making and continuous improvement.

3. Inventory & Stock Control

• Coordinate and monitor monthly and annual stock take activities for Raw Materials, Work-in-Progress (WIP), and Finished Goods.
• Perform month-end inventory verification and stock audit to ensure inventory accuracy.
• Prepare Closing Stock Reports for Raw Materials and Finished Goods.
• Support inventory reconciliation and investigate stock variances.

4. Fixed Assets Management

• Manage and maintain the Fixed Asset Register, including acquisition, disposal, depreciation, and reconciliation.
• Review and update detailed schedules of fixed assets to ensure proper recording and compliance.

5. Compliance, Audit & Taxation

• Liaise with external auditors, tax agents, company secretaries, and statutory authorities on audit, tax, and statutory matters.
• Ensure timely preparation and submission of statutory and tax-related reports, including SST, withholding tax, and annual reporting requirements where applicable.
• Support annual audit exercises and ensure proper documentation for audit purposes.

6. Cash Flow & Payment Management

• Perform reconciliation for bank balances, AR, AP, and intercompany accounts.
• Review supplier invoices and coordinate payment processing to ensure timely settlement.
• Record and process employee claims and company expenses accurately.

7. Documentation & Internal Control

• Maintain proper filing systems and effective document control for accounting records and supporting documents.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls, financial policies, and company procedures.

8. Continuous Improvement & Other Duties

• Recommend process improvements, financial controls, and cost-saving initiatives to Management for consideration.
• Perform ad-hoc assignments and any other duties as assigned by Management from time to time.

REQUIREMENTS

• Education : Diploma / Degree in related field
• Skills: Solid experience with Multics Payroll, SQL & EMAS Accounting System, ERP System and MS Office (particularly MS Excel)
• Experience: 5 ~ 8 years in accounting
• Fluent in Mandarin to effectively communicate and liaise with Mandarin-speaking customers.
