Ferrotec Manufacturing Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. seeks a Finance and Accounting Manager to lead the accounting department, ensure accuracy of financial records, and drive closing cycles on a monthly and yearly basis.

You will guide the team, maintain internal controls, coordinate with auditors, and provide actionable insights to management. Strong GAAP/IFRS knowledge and ERP experience are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance or related field; Master’s/CPA preferred.
• 7 years of accounting experience with at least 2 years in a supervisory/managerial role.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and IFRS.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and supervise daily accounting operations (A/P, A/R, GL, fixed assets).
• Lead month-end and year-end closing, ensure accuracy and timeliness.
• Prepare financial statements for internal and external stakeholders.
• Design and implement internal controls; liaise with external auditors.
• Mentor and develop the accounting team; assign tasks and manage workflow.
• Identify process improvements; implement best practices and automation.
• Ensure tax compliance (sales tax, VAT, income tax) and regulatory adherence.
• Provide financial analysis and KPI insights to support management decisions.

Job description

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Finance and Accounting Manager to lead and oversee our accounting department. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial management, a deep understanding of accounting principles, and the ability to guide and develop a team. The Finance and Accounting Manager will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial records, managing the monthly and yearly closing processes, preparing financial statements, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

1) Oversee Daily Operations :

Supervise and manage the daily activities of accounting team, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, fixed assets, employee/credit card expenses, journal entries, close checklist, reconciliation and system automation projects.

Ensure accuracy in financial data and adherence to accounting standards (GAAP, IFRS).

Prepare and present monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, for internal and external stakeholders.

Provide analysis and insights into financial performance, highlighting trends, variances, and areas for improvement.

3) Month End and Year End Closing :

Lead the monthly and year end closing processes ensuring all transactions are recorded accurately and timely.

Review journal entries and ensure the integrity of financial records during the close.

4) Compliance and Internal Controls :

Ensure compliance with local, state and federal regulations and internal financial policies.

Design and implement internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure the accuracy of financial data.

Coordinate with external auditors for annual audits and ensure the timely completion of audit requirements.

5) Team Leadership and Development :

Lead and mentor the accounting team, providing guidance, training and support to ensure professional growth and development.

Assign tasks and responsibilities to team members, ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to deadlines.

6) Process Improvement :

Identify areas of improvement in accounting processes and implement best practices to enhance efficiency, reduce errors and streamline operations.

Utilize accounting software and automations tools to improve the accuracy and speed of financial operations.

7) Tax Compliance :

Ensure accurate and timely filing of tax returns, including sales tax, VAT, and income tax.

Collaborate with external tax advisors to address complex tax issues and ensure compliance with tax laws.

8) Financial Analysis :

Provide financial analysis and recommendations to senior management to support strategic decision making.

Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and provide actionable insights to improve financial performance.

9) Undertake other roles & responsibilities that are assigned by the company and immediate superior form time to time until full closure.

REQUIREMENTS / SKILLSET:

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance or related field (Master’s degree or CPA preferred).

7 years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role.

Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial regulations. (GAAP, IFRS).

Proficiency in accounting software (eg. SAP, Oracle, Concur, KOFAX, ONBASE) and advanced Excel skills.

Strong leadership, communication and interpersonal skills.

Exceptional analytical and problem solving abilities.

Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines.
