Job summary

BYTE TO BITE SDN. BHD. is seeking a Field Service Technician to install, configure, test, and commission equipment at customer sites in Malaysia. The role involves troubleshooting, maintenance, and hands-on repairs across mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems.

The successful candidate will read manuals and diagrams, communicate professionally with customers, and collaborate with Engineering, Support, and Sales to resolve complex issues. Occasional overseas travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Electrical and Electronic Engineering or Mechatronic Engineering preferred.
• Proven experience as a Field Service Technician or similar technical role.
• Strong troubleshooting skills in mechanical, electrical, or electronic systems.
• Strong communication and customer-service attitude.
• Ability to read technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and schematics.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, test, and commission equipment according to company standards and customer requirements.
• Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and system upgrades to ensure optimal equipment performance.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, or technical issues and provide effective, timely repairs.
• Document service work, equipment status, parts usage, and customer interactions in service reports.
• Provide technical guidance and support to customers on equipment operation and preventive maintenance.
• Communicate with customers timely and professionally and provide technical resolution efficiently.
• Guide customers on best practices for equipment use and care.
• Collaborate with internal teams (Engineering, Support, Sales) to resolve complex issues.
• Adhere to safety guidelines, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
• Travel to customer sites (local and overseas) within assigned territory; occasional overnight travel may be required.
