SUPERSIC (MALAYSIA) SDN. BHD. in Penang seeks an industrious engineer to supervise shift-based fab floor workflows, coordinate operator logistics and material staging, and manage machine queues to meet daily Move Targets.
Ideal candidates hold a Bachelor’s in industrial/mechanical/mechatronics engineering with CGPA 3.00+, and have Lean/Six Sigma exposure. Open to fresh grads or those with 1–2 years of experience, including semiconductor internship experience.
- Shop-Floor Workflow & Move Targets: Supervise shift-based fab floor workflows, managing operator logistics, raw material staging, and machine queues to consistently hit daily Move Targets.
- First-Response & Bottleneck Elimination: Serve as the First Responder to on-site production bottlenecks, tool downs, or supply chain blockages, initiating Emergency Action Plans (EAP) immediately to maximize WIP balance.
- Operational Hygiene & Safety Enforcement: Enforce absolute operational discipline, ensuring flawless compliance with cleanroom 5S guidelines, EHS safety behaviors, and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) protocols among operators.
- Manufacturing KPI Tracking & Handovers: Compile, analyze, and present real-time shop-floor manufacturing KPIs (WIP balance, tool utilization rates, cycle time) during shift-to-shift handover passdown meetings.
- Resource Rostering & Cross-Training: Manage shift resource rosters, operator attendance compliance, and update the operator cross-training matrix to support multi-skilled flexible staging.
- Continuous Improvement Loops (Lean / Six Sigma): Lead localized continuous improvement loops utilizing Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma tools (Time Study, Spaghetti Diagrams) to eradicate movement wastes, waiting delays, and tool idle times.
- Ad-Hoc Engineering Tasks: Support technical engineering teams during new equipment installations and complete any other operational duties assigned by the Management.
Job Requirements:
Education: Bachelor's degree in industrial engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Mechatronics Engineering.
Experience: Open to high-Caliber fresh graduates or candidates with 1-2 years of technical manufacturing experience. Prior internship experience in a semiconductor wafer fab or electronic cleanroom environment is a major advantage.
Academic Merit: CGPA of 3.00 and above.
Technical Competencies: Basic understanding of production planning, logistics routing and cycle time tracking.
Commanding Presence & Conflict Resolution: Outstanding commanding presence, strong conflict-resolution capabilities, and excellent stress management when working under strict manufacturing shipping delivery timelines.
Shift Adaptability: Willingness to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and flexible to support shifting rosters (including 12-hour shifts) during critical production ramp-up phases.
