ASMPT MALAYSIA SDN. BHD. is seeking a quality engineer to develop, implement and review quality standards, control plans, PFMEA and testing procedures for new and existing equipment.
You will lead product and process risk analyses, ensure proper validation, plan internal process audits, and drive continuous improvement through KPIs and RCA. The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering, 5+ years in machining/semiconductor manufacturing, and hands-on experience
Develop/implement/ review quality standards, control plans, PFMEA and testing procedures for new and existing equipment.
Lead product and process risk analysis and mitigation development efforts to confirm the design and process team has accurately identified product & process risk, assessed the level of risk and analyzed with team to ensure the risks are assessed.
Assure acceptance and methodologies are fully documented and appropriate such that product inspection / validation / testing is properly performed, including develop, maintain and revise validation / test requirements.
Plan and perform process audits internally to ensure compliance per processes and system requirements.
Monitor KPIs, analyse production data, perform root cause analysis (RCA), and drive continuous improvement.
Identify opportunities to enhance efficiency, reduce defects, and improve overall product quality.
Lead failure analysis (FA) and Material Review Boards (MRB), document findings, and implement corrective actions (CRAMS).
Lead quality issue resolutions team to identify root cause and establish effective corrective and preventive action plan.
Ensure timely communication and resolution of customer complaints, with a focus on long-term reliability improvements.
Work with R&D, Process Engineering, Production, and sister plants to resolve issues and integrate quality into development.
Act as a key liaison to ensure quality requirements are understood and implemented across all functions.
Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor’s degree in mechanical/electrical engineering or equivalent.
At least 5 year(s) of working experience in the related technical field, machining, fabrication, assembly and semiconductor manufacturing or equipment is desirable.
Preferably trained and have good knowledge in Quality Control 7 Tools, Risk Assessment, PFMEA, Quality Control Plan, SPC, MSA, 8D methodologies, Failure Analysis Reports, 6 Sigma and ISO 9001 standard.
Strong project management skills and ability to work well independently or as a part of a team.
Strong analytical, problem solving with verbal and written communication and personal interface skills are required.
Familiarity with cleanroom environments and high-tech equipment.
Effectively bilingual, with the ability to communicate across diverse teams and regions.
