The Facility Engineer is responsible for the operation, maintenance, reliability, compliance, and continuous improvement of facility systems supporting a high-tech manufacturing environment. The role encompasses surface treatment equipment, wastewater treatment systems, HVAC and cleanroom facilities, DI water systems, plant utilities, and building infrastructure to ensure safe, efficient, and uninterrupted manufacturing operations. The incumbent will lead preventive and predictive maintenance activities, facility improvement projects, contractor management, utility optimization initiatives, and environmental compliance programs while supporting production requirements and business growth.
Key responsibilities
Manage operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of surface treatment systems, including chemical treatment lines, electroplating systems, anodizing equipment, degreasing and cleaning systems, chemical dosing systems, fume extraction systems, and wet scrubber systems
Operate and maintain industrial wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) and monitor wastewater processes including neutralization systems, chemical precipitation, flocculation and clarification, filtration systems, sludge dewatering systems, and wastewater recycling and recovery systems
Manage HVAC systems supporting manufacturing and cleanroom operations, including temperature control, humidity control, airflow management, pressurization systems, HEPA/ULPA filtration systems, air handling units (AHUs), and chilled water systems
Manage operation and maintenance of deionized (DI) water systems, reverse osmosis (RO) systems, ultra-pure water systems, water softeners, filtration systems, and storage and distribution networks
Monitor plant utilities including mechanical utilities (chiller systems, cooling towers, air compressors, vacuum systems, industrial gases systems, steam and hot water systems, process exhaust systems) and electrical utilities (HT/LV electrical distribution systems, transformers, switchgear, UPS systems, standby generators, power monitoring systems)
Maintain overall facility infrastructure including factory buildings, office areas, warehouses, roads and drainage systems, fire protection systems, security systems, and building fabric and structures
Develop and implement preventive maintenance (PM) programs and support predictive maintenance initiatives utilizing vibration analysis, thermography, motor current analysis, and condition monitoring
Lead facility engineering projects from concept to completion, including preparation of technical specifications, RFQs, and project budgets, and manage installation, FAT/SAT, commissioning, and qualification activities
Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and corporate standards, support ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems, conduct risk assessments and job hazard analysis, and implement permit-to-work (PTW) and lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures
Drive operational excellence and cost reduction initiatives, identify opportunities for energy savings, water conservation, waste reduction, and carbon footprint reduction, and utilize Lean, TPM, Six Sigma, and Reliability Engineering tools
About you
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Facilities Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or related engineering discipline
3-5 years of relevant experience in semiconductor manufacturing, electronics manufacturing, PCB manufacturing, precision engineering, medical device manufacturing, or data center or cleanroom environment
Strong knowledge in one or more of the following areas: surface treatment and plating systems, wastewater treatment processes, HVAC and cleanroom technologies, DI water and UPW systems, chiller and cooling tower systems, compressed air systems, electrical distribution systems, industrial piping systems, Building Management Systems (BMS), SCADA systems, preventive and predictive maintenance methodologies, or energy management programs
Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills and root cause analysis (RCA) capability
Project management skills and budget and cost control awareness
