Job summary

Vertiv Group Corporation is seeking a Smart Solution Field Service Engineer to install, commission, and maintain modular data centers and critical IT infrastructure at customer sites in Malaysia. You will work with on-site power, cooling, and IT systems to ensure reliable operation and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities include on-site installation and testing, remote and on-site troubleshooting, preventive and corrective maintenance, customer training, and 24/7 emergency support.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in Electrical, Electronic, or Mechanical Engineering (or a related field).
• 2+ years of experience in field service, technical support, or maintenance of power, cooling, or IT infrastructure.
• Strong knowledge of UPS systems, cooling solutions, networking, and modular data centers.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals.
• Experience with firmware updates, software configurations, and system calibrations.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently under pressure.
• Willingness to travel and work on-site at customer locations.
• Excellent communication skills to interact with customers, internal teams, and vendors.

Responsibilities

• Install on-site equipment and perform commissioning and performance tests.
• Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues for modular data centers and related infrastructure.
• Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance and firmware/software upgrades.
• Educate customers on best practices for system operation and maintenance.
• Provide 24/7 on-call support for critical system failures and downtime events.
• Maintain compliance with safety and regulatory standards and keep detailed service logs.
• Contribute feedback to engineering and product teams and pursue ongoing training.
