Job summary

Contacthings Solution Sdn Bhd is seeking a field service engineer to install, calibrate, and commission advanced semiconductor equipment at customer sites. You will diagnose issues, perform scheduled maintenance, and implement system upgrades to maximize productivity and yield.

You will serve as the main technical interface to customers, offering operational guidance and basic operator training, while documenting activities and parts usage in internal systems.

Qualifications

• Diploma or bachelor’s degree in mechanical/electrical/mechatronics or related.
• 3–5 years of hands-on field service or equipment engineering in semiconductor/electronics.
• Strong ability to read electrical schematics, drawings, and P&ID diagrams.

Responsibilities

• Install, calibrate, and integrate complex semiconductor machinery on-site.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and software issues to minimize downtime.
• Perform preventive maintenance, tests, and system upgrades for productivity and yield.
• Interface with customers, provide operational guidance and basic operator training.
• Document service activities and spare parts usage in CRM/ERP systems.
• Provide feedback to engineering on reliability and field issues.

Job description

You will be responsible for the installation, commissioning, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of advanced semiconductor assembly equipment at customer manufacturing sites. You will serve as the primary technical interface for customers, providing operational guidance, troubleshooting assistance, and basic operator training.

Key responsibilities

Perform on-site installation, calibration, and integration of complex semiconductor assembly and packaging machinery.

Diagnose mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and software issues promptly to minimize equipment downtime.

Execute scheduled maintenance routines, performance checks, and system upgrades to ensure optimal machine productivity and yield.

Serve as the primary technical interface for customers, providing operational guidance, troubleshooting assistance, and basic operator training.

Document service activities, maintenance logs, and spare parts usage accurately using internal CRM/ERP systems.

Provide feedback to engineering and R&D teams regarding equipment reliability, design enhancements, and recurring field issues.

About you

Diploma or bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related technical discipline.

Minimum of 3–5 years of hands‑on field service or equipment engineering experience within the semiconductor assembly or electronics manufacturing industry.

Strong proficiency in reading electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and P&ID diagrams.

Hands‑on experience with motion control systems, PLCs, sensors, and robotics.

Excellent problem‑solving skills under high‑pressure, cleanroom environments.

Direct experience with Lid Attach / Integrated Heat Spreader (IHS) placement and bonding systems.

Familiarity with Fluxer systems utilizing piezo pump technology for precision dispensing.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; capable of managing customer expectations professionally.

Willingness to travel domestically and internationally on short notice to support customer sites.
