Job summary

JSTN (Malaysia) SDN. BHD. in Penang seeks an automation technician with strong PLC/HMI skills to support equipment commissioning, installation and maintenance.

The role requires hands-on experience in automated plants and the ability to work with SOPs and training materials. Ideal candidates will have 2+ years in manufacturing environments, 3+ years in production, bilingual Chinese/English, and willingness to travel for training at the China headquarters.

Qualifications

• College or technical university degree in mechanical automation, mechatronics, or electrical automation.
• Working knowledge of PLC, HMI, electro-pneumatic systems, hydraulic systems and electrical wiring.
• Minimum 2 years in fully or semi-automated manufacturing plant.
• Minimum 3 years in production environment.
• Team oriented with good inter-personal and communication skills in writing and speaking.
• Bilingual in Chinese and English.
• Willing to travel and undergo short-term training at China headquarters.

Responsibilities

• Complete equipment move-in, installation, commissioning, repair and maintenance under SOP and installation video.
• Conduct commissioning per commissioning manual requirements and maintain complete relevant data files.
• Establish complete equipment debugging and maintenance file records on the PM system.
• Handle faults found in the debugging process and report unsolvable problems to the supervisor in a timely manner.
• Provide feedback on product quality problems found during commissioning and conduct problem investigation to prevent recurrence.
• Understand product manufacturing process, identify process deviation problems, and take corrective measures or elevate to supervisors.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot routine or minor equipment problems.
• Provide training for other employees and operators and update training manuals when necessary.

Job Requirements

College or preferably technical university degree in mechanical automation, mechatronics, or electrical automation

Working knowledge in PLC, HMI, electro-pneumatic systems, hydraulic systems and electrical wiring

Minimum 2 years of work experience in fully or semi-automated manufacturing plant

Minimum 3 years of working experience in production environment

Team oriented with excellent inter-personal and communication skills both written and verbal

Experience in participating in small and middle-sized project management

Bilingual in Chinese and English

Willing to travel and accept short-term professional training at China headquarters
