Job summary

GREAT WALL MOTOR SALES MALAYSIA SDN. BHD. is seeking a Field Quality Engineer focused on Powertrain & Chassis to analyze and manage product quality issues in the Malaysian market. You will coordinate with R&D, After-Sales, suppliers, and HQ teams to drive timely resolutions.

You will provide rapid responses during initial launch stages, conduct on-site investigations, teardown and failure analysis, and verify corrective actions and root causes. Travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Experience in analyzing and resolving automotive quality issues.
• Experience in field quality, vehicle quality, after-sales quality or warranty.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Ability to coordinate with multiple teams and suppliers.

• Initiate and drive TOP and mass quality issue resolutions with tracking and corrective actions.
• Provide rapid response during initial launch, including on-site investigations and corrective actions.

Job description

Field Quality Engineer – Powertrain & Chassis

Analyze and manage product quality issues in the Malaysian market, coordinate with relevant teams and mobilize technical resources from the headquarters to drive the resolution of key quality issues.

Provide rapid response to quality issues during the initial launch stage of new vehicle models in the Malaysian market, including on-site investigation, issue analysis, and follow-up on corrective actions.

Coordinate the retrieval and return of defective parts from the market, conduct teardown and failure analysis, and verify the identified root causes and corrective actions.

Initiate and drive the resolution of TOP quality issues and mass quality issues in the Malaysian market, including issue tracking, corrective actions, and market response activities.

Key Requirements

Experience in analyzing and resolving automotive quality issues, particularly in engine, transmission, and chassis systems.

Strong knowledge of automotive systems, components, and vehicle troubleshooting.

Experience in field quality, vehicle quality, after-sales quality, warranty, or automotive technical support is preferred.

Strong problem-solving, analytical, and cross-functional coordination skills.

Able to work with R&D, After-Sales, suppliers, and headquarters teams to drive quality improvement activities.

Willing to conduct on-site investigations and travel when required.

Good command of English and Bahasa Malaysia. Mandarin would be an advantage.
