The role will coordinate across Production, Engineering, Manufacturing, Warehouse, Purchasing, Supplier Quality, Project Management and other teams to ensure readiness for customer and certification audits.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Quality Management, Engineering, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering or related discipline.
  • 2–5 years of relevant experience in Quality Assurance, QMS or Quality Engineering.
  • Experience with IATF 16949 and ISO 9001 preferred.
  • Knowledge of Automotive Core Tools (APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA and SPC).
  • Experience in internal auditing, CAPA, root cause analysis and continuous improvement.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; English proficiency; Mandarin/Chinese an advantage.

QA Engineer – Quality Management System (QMS) / IATF 16949

Job Type: Full-Time

Job Summary

We are looking for a QA Engineer – Quality Management System (QMS) / IATF 16949 to support the establishment, implementation, certification and continuous improvement of the company's Quality Management System (QMS).

The successful candidate will play a key role in preparing and implementing IATF 16949 Automotive Quality Management System requirements for our Digital Cockpit Assembly project, ensuring compliance with applicable automotive standards, customer-specific requirements (CSR), regulatory requirements and internal quality procedures.

This position will work closely with Production, Engineering, Manufacturing, Warehouse, Purchasing, Supplier Quality, Project Management and other functional teams to establish a robust quality system and ensure readiness for customer and certification audits.

Key Responsibilities

1. Quality Management System (QMS)

Establish, implement, maintain and continuously improve the company's Quality Management System in accordance with IATF 16949, ISO 9001 and applicable automotive industry requirements.

Develop and maintain the overall QMS framework, processes, procedures, work instructions, forms, records and quality-related documentation.

Ensure QMS requirements are effectively communicated and implemented across all relevant departments.

Monitor compliance with documented procedures and identify opportunities for system improvement.

Establish and maintain the Quality Manual, process documentation, quality objectives and relevant quality records.

Ensure proper document control, revision control, retention and traceability of quality-related documents and records.

2. IATF 16949 Implementation & Certification

Coordinate and drive the implementation of IATF 16949 requirements across the organization.

Develop an implementation roadmap, action plan and timeline to ensure IATF 16949 certification readiness.

Conduct gap assessments against IATF 16949 requirements and develop corrective action plans.

Follow up with process owners on outstanding actions and ensure timely closure.

Prepare the organization for Stage 1, Stage 2 and subsequent IATF 16949 certification audits.

Coordinate with third-party certification bodies and consultants where applicable.

Monitor changes to applicable automotive quality standards and ensure the QMS is updated accordingly.

3. Automotive Core Tools

Support the implementation and effective application of relevant Automotive Core Tools, including:

APQP – Advanced Product Quality Planning

PPAP – Production Part Approval Process

FMEA – Failure Mode and Effects Analysis

MSA – Measurement System Analysis

SPC – Statistical Process Control

Ensure relevant Core Tools are incorporated into product and process quality planning.

Work closely with Engineering and Production teams to ensure appropriate quality planning and documentation are established before mass production.

4. Internal Audit & Compliance

Develop and maintain the Internal Audit Programme based on IATF 16949 and internal requirements.

Plan, coordinate and conduct internal system, process and product audits.

Identify non-conformities, observations and opportunities for improvement.

Issue audit findings and monitor corrective actions through effective CAPA (Corrective and Preventive Action) processes.

Verify the effectiveness of corrective actions and ensure timely closure of audit findings.

Maintain audit records and prepare audit reports for management review.

5. Management Review & Quality Performance

Coordinate and support periodic Management Review Meetings.

Prepare quality-related data, reports and presentations for management review.

Monitor and report quality objectives, KPIs and key process performance indicators.

Analyze quality trends, recurring issues and process performance and recommend improvement actions.

Follow up on management review action items and ensure timely implementation.

6. Customer & Certification Audit

Coordinate and prepare the organization for customer audits, certification audits and surveillance audits.

Act as one of the key Quality representatives during customer and external audits.

Ensure customer-specific requirements (CSR) are identified, documented and communicated to relevant departments.

Coordinate responses to customer audit findings and ensure effective corrective actions are implemented.

Maintain audit preparation checklists, evidence and supporting documentation.

Ensure the organization remains audit-ready at all times.

7. Customer Specific Requirements (CSR)

Identify and maintain applicable Customer Specific Requirements (CSR) from automotive customers.

Review customer quality requirements and ensure they are incorporated into relevant internal processes.

Coordinate with relevant departments to ensure customer requirements are understood and implemented.

Monitor changes in customer requirements and update the QMS accordingly.

8. Quality Risk Management & Continuous Improvement

Support risk-based thinking and process risk management throughout the organization.

Facilitate quality risk assessments and follow up on identified improvement actions.

Promote continuous improvement initiatives related to quality, process effectiveness and customer satisfaction.

Support root cause analysis and problem-solving activities using appropriate quality tools.

Drive effective corrective and preventive actions to prevent recurrence of quality issues.

Support the implementation of lessons learned and best practices across relevant processes.

9. Production & Manufacturing Quality Support

Work closely with Production and Engineering teams to ensure quality requirements are effectively implemented on the manufacturing line.

Support the establishment and maintenance of process control documentation, inspection standards, work instructions and quality records.

Ensure production processes are controlled in accordance with approved procedures and quality requirements.

Support quality system readiness for new product introduction (NPI), trial production and mass production.

Ensure quality documentation and records are properly established before production ramp-up.

Support investigation of process-related quality issues and coordinate corrective actions where required.

10. Document & Record Control

Establish and maintain an effective document and record control system.

Ensure only the latest approved versions of procedures, work instructions, specifications and forms are available at the point of use.

Control obsolete documents and prevent unintended use.

Establish appropriate retention periods and traceability for quality records.

Ensure quality documentation is properly maintained and readily available for audits.

11. Quality Awareness & Training

Develop and conduct quality awareness training related to IATF 16949, QMS requirements, internal procedures and quality standards.

Support employee awareness of quality policy, quality objectives and customer requirements.

Work with department heads to identify relevant QMS training requirements.

Maintain appropriate training records and competency documentation.

12. Cross-Functional Coordination

Work closely with Production, Engineering, Warehouse, Purchasing, Supplier Quality, Logistics, HR and other functions to ensure effective implementation of the QMS.

Provide guidance to process owners regarding QMS requirements and compliance.

Facilitate cross-functional meetings for quality-related issues and improvement activities.

Promote a strong quality culture and customer-focused mindset throughout the organization.

Successful implementation and certification of IATF 16949 QMS according to the company's project timeline.

Timely completion of QMS documentation and implementation activities.

Internal audit programme completed as planned.

Timely closure and effective verification of internal/external audit findings.

Customer and certification audit readiness and successful audit performance.

Effective implementation of applicable Customer Specific Requirements (CSR).

Improvement in QMS compliance and process effectiveness.

Achievement of defined quality objectives and departmental KPIs.

Reduction of recurring quality system non-conformities.

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Quality Management, Engineering, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, Automotive Engineering or a related discipline.

Minimum 2–5 years of relevant experience in Quality Assurance, Quality Management System or Quality Engineering, preferably within the automotive manufacturing industry.

Practical experience in IATF 16949 and ISO 9001 implementation is strongly preferred.

Experience in preparing for or participating in IATF 16949 / ISO certification audits and customer audits.

Knowledge of automotive Core Tools (APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA and SPC).

Experience in internal auditing, CAPA, root cause analysis and continuous improvement.

Familiarity with manufacturing processes, production quality control and process documentation.

Strong understanding of document control and quality records management.

Good analytical, problem-solving and organizational skills.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively across departments.

Able to work independently, manage multiple tasks and follow up effectively with process owners.

Good command of English; knowledge of Mandarin/Chinese is an advantage due to communication with regional/overseas stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

Ever participate or certified IATF 16949 Internal Auditor.

Experience in automotive OEM / Tier 1 / Tier 2 manufacturing environment.

Experience in automotive electronics, Digital Cockpit, ECU, instrument cluster or electronic assembly is an added advantage.

Experience with customer-specific requirements and automotive customer audits.

Experience in new plant / new project QMS setup and certification is highly preferred.
