Job summary

TIME dotCom Berhad seeks a field technician to manage region assurance, activation and project work with strong reporting skills. You will handle fault attendance, preventive maintenance, and supervise contractor activities to ensure high-quality delivery across sites in Malaysia.

The role requires a diploma in Electronic/Electrical Engineering with 1+ year fiber telecom experience; DWDM proficiency and fault-troubleshooting abilities are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum diploma in Electronic / Electrical Engineering or equivalent with at least 1 year experience in fiber optic telecom.
• Knowledge in DWDM and access equipment with 1–3 years hands-on experience; good troubleshooting for facility equipment.
• Willing to work standby and frequent outstation.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills with integrity, self-discipline and analytical thinking.

Responsibilities

• Manage and execute region assurance, activation and project-related works with reporting and tracking.
• Ensure quality-of-service through fault attending and preventive maintenance schedules.
• Oversee activation to meet CRD and installation specifications.
• Supervise contractor works to ensure quality and timely delivery.
• Maintain preventive and corrective maintenance for facility equipment (Power, AC, Standby Generator, SMR, Battery).
• Keep site records up to date, including fiber network database and tool/test gear status.
• Provide regular status updates to supervisor and adhere to safety requirements.

Job description

Job Overview:

Responsible to manage and execute region assurance, activation and project related works with reporting/tracking management.

• Responsible for the quality-of-service assurance (fault attending & meeting preventive maintenance schedule).
• Responsible for the quality-of-service activation (meeting CRD and installation specifications).
• Manage and supervise contractor works in order to ensure quality work and delivery.
• Responsible for Preventive and Corrective Maintenance for facility equipment (Power, Air-Conditioner, Standby Generator, SMR, Battery), equipment powers up and rectify the defect from PM Portal within specific period of time.
• Maintain the accuracy of site records, i.e., fiber network database and condition of all assigned tools and test gears.
• Provide regular status update to immediate superior on all activities and adhere with occupational safety & health requirements.

To be considered, you’ll need:

• Minimum diploma in Electronic / Electrical Engineering or its equivalents with at least 1 year experience in the fiber optic telecommunication industry.
• Knowledge in DWDM and access equipment with at least 1 to 3 years hand on operations experience. Good knowledge and troubleshooting skills in facility equipment such power, air-Conditioner, Standby Generator etc with hand on work experience is advantage.
• Willing to work on standby and frequent outstation.
• Have good communication and interpersonal skills: high integrity, self-discipline, positive attitude, analytical thinking, problem solving skill and able to work with minimum supervision. Has ability to remain composed and professional in stressful in high pressure situation.
