LINKTEL TECHNOLOGIES SDN.BHD. is seeking a hands-on engineering assistant in Penang to support setup, installation, and ongoing production improvements. You will assist with equipment, spare parts, and data-driven optimization to meet production KPIs.
Requirements include a Diploma in Mechanical/Electrical/Mechatronics/Automation and at least 2 years of relevant experience, with good English and Bahasa Malaysia. Overtime may be required and collaboration with engineers is essential.
Assist engineers in the setup and installation of equipment.
Support engineers in the execution of process and equipment improvement plans.
Assist with spare parts management and inventory control.
Troubleshoot, investigate, and implement preventive actions to resolve technical issues in the production process.
Maintain machine performance to meet KPIs, including product yield, productivity, machine downtime, quality, and cost targets.
Minimize machine downtime and perform immediate repairs in the event of equipment malfunction.
Carry out Preventive Maintenance (PM) activities in accordance with the established schedule, ensuring all equipment operations and processes comply with PM procedures.
Adhere to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) as outlined in company policies and the Employee Handbook.
Comply with the 5S Management System at all times.
Provide timely feedback to engineers and the Department Manager to ensure smooth transition from prototype to full production ramp-up.
Prepare and update daily reports for review by engineers and the Department Manager.
Collect, analyze, and interpret production data to monitor processes and identify improvement opportunities.
Perform other duties as assigned by engineers and the Department Manager from time to time.
Job Requirements
Diploma or equivalent in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, or Automation Engineering.
Minimum of 2 years of working experience in engineering or manufacturing (preferably in the semiconductor or optical industry).
Willing to work overtime (OT) when required by the engineer or Department Manager.
Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with team members, report issues effectively, and provide technical support.
Knowledge of Statistical Methods, FMEA (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis), and Control Plans will be an added advantage.
Experience in assembling and/or testing transceivers will be an added advantage.
Proficiency in English and Bahasa Malaysia is required.
Equipment maintenance, equipment qualification, hands‑on troubleshooting, problem‑solving, and root cause analysis.
Familiar with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Microsoft Excel.
