Job summary

Icontronic Technology is seeking a Field Application Engineer to join our Penang-based engineering team. The role focuses on on-site technical support, installation, commissioning, and field troubleshooting to ensure successful product implementations and customer satisfaction.

You will work closely with customers, coordinate with product development, and conduct system testing and documentation while traveling to client sites and maintaining detailed records.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
• 3+ years of experience in field engineering, technical support, or systems implementation.
• Strong technical knowledge of project engineering principles and industrial systems.
• Proficiency in troubleshooting complex problems and diagnosing equipment faults.
• Excellent communication skills for non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple field assignments.
• Willingness to travel to customer sites and work flexible hours.
• Valid driving license and reliable transportation.
• Familiarity with industry standards and safety regulations.
• Experience with technical documentation is advantageous.

This is a full-time position based in Bukit Mertajam, Penang, offering an exciting opportunity to work at the intersection of technical expertise and customer engagement. In this role, you will be responsible for providing technical support, troubleshooting solutions, and ensuring successful implementation of our products in the field. This position is critical to maintaining strong customer relationships and driving the success of our project engineering initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Provide on-site technical support and troubleshooting assistance to clients and project teams
• Install, configure, and commission engineering systems and equipment at customer locations
• Conduct comprehensive system testing and performance validation to ensure products meet specifications
• Document technical findings, system configurations, and provide detailed reports to customers and internal teams
• Identify and resolve technical issues efficiently, liaising between customers and product development teams
• Provide training and guidance to customers on product operation and maintenance procedures
• Perform preventive maintenance and conduct regular system inspections
• Gather customer feedback and requirements to support product improvement initiatives
• Maintain detailed records of field activities, service calls, and customer interactions

What we're looking for

• 3+ years of experience in field engineering, technical support, or systems implementation roles
• Strong technical knowledge of project engineering principles and industrial systems
• Proficiency in troubleshooting complex technical problems and diagnosing equipment faults
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
• Proven ability to work independently and manage multiple field assignments simultaneously
• Strong problem-solving capabilities and attention to detail
• Willingness to travel to customer sites and work flexible hours when required
• Valid driving license and reliable transportation
• Familiarity with relevant industry standards and safety regulations
