KPJ Selangor Specialist Hospital is seeking a Facility Technician to ensure safe, efficient operation of hospital facilities and building systems. You will perform maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems to support a high-quality healthcare environment.
Responsibilities include routine inspections, preventive maintenance, responding to emergencies, and maintaining accurate records.
Job Summary
The Facility Technicianis responsible forensuring the safe, efficient, and continuous operation of hospital facilities and building systems. This includes maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and basic civil works to support a high-quality healthcare environment.
Key Responsibilities
Perform routine inspection, preventive maintenance, and corrective maintenance of hospital equipment and systems (e.g., HVAC, electrical, plumbing).
Monitor andmaintaincritical systems such as generators, medical gas systems, water supply, and fire protection systems.
Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergency breakdowns.
Ensure all maintenance workcomplies withsafety standards, hospital policies, and local regulations.
Assistin managing service contractors and ensure work is completed according to specifications.
Maintainaccuratemaintenance records, logs, and reports.
Conduct basic troubleshooting and repairs for building infrastructure and equipment.
Support facility improvement projects and renovationworkswhenrequired.
Ensure cleanliness and proper functioning of facility areas, including patient rooms, operating theatres, andcommon areas.
Participate in safety drills and emergency response activities.
Requirements
Certificate/Diploma in Electrical, Mechanical, Building Services,biomedicalengineeringor related field.
Minimum 1–3 years of experience in facility maintenance, preferably in a hospital or healthcare environment.
Knowledge of HVAC systems, electrical systems, and plumbing.
Familiarity with Malaysian safety regulations and standards (e.g., DOSH, Suruhanjaya Tenaga).
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Good problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and on-call duties ifrequired.
Basic computer skills for reporting and documentation.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in hospital facility management or healthcare environment.
Chargeman certification (AO/A1/A4) is an added advantage.
Knowledge of medical gas systems and building automation systems (BAS).
