Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil Engineering or related field.
• 3–5 years of facility management or building services experience.
• Proven expertise in HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems.
• Strong knowledge of building safety regulations and standards.
• Hands-on problem solving and preventive maintenance mindset.
• Experience with CMMS software.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, maintain, and repair building services systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire safety).
• Lead preventative maintenance programs and respond to emergencies.
• Monitor energy use and identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Maintain records of maintenance activities and equipment performance.
• Ensure compliance with relevant codes and safety regulations.

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Facility Engineer, Specialist, or Team Lead to join COSMX Technology Malaysia Sdn Bhd in Karangan, Kedah. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in ensuring the optimal operation, maintenance, and safety of our building services infrastructure. As a key member of our facilities management team, you will be responsible for overseeing the technical systems and mechanical infrastructure that support our operations. This role offers the opportunity to progress into a leadership position, depending on your experience and aspirations, with the potential to manage and mentor a team of facility professionals.

Key responsibilities

Your responsibilities will include:

• Inspect, maintain, and repair building services systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire safety equipment
• Conduct preventative maintenance program to ensure all facility systems operate efficiently and safely
• Respond promptly to facility-related issues and emergency breakdowns, implementing effective solutions
• Monitor energy consumption and identify opportunities for cost savings and sustainability improvements
• Maintain comprehensive records of maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment performance
• Ensure compliance with all relevant building codes, safety regulations, and industry standards
• Collaborate with contractors and vendors for specialized maintenance and repairs
• If progressing to a team lead role: oversee and mentor junior facility staff, assign tasks, and ensure quality work delivery
• Conduct facility inspections and prepare reports on building condition and maintenance requirements
• Liaise with management on facility upgrades, improvements, and capital projects

What we’re looking for

We are seeking candidates with the following qualifications and experience:

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related engineering field

Minimum 3-5 years' experience in facility management, building services engineering, or a related field

Proven expertise in HVAC systems, electrical systems, plumbing, and preventative maintenance

Strong knowledge of building safety systems and compliance with relevant regulations and standards

Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities with a practical, hands-on approach

Strong Computer literacy and experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS)

Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams

For Team Lead level: demonstrated supervisory or leadership experience and the ability to manage, motivate, and develop staff

Flexibility to respond to emergency situations outside normal working hours

Willingness to undertake continuous professional development and stay updated with industry best practices
