Job summary

Cosmx Technology Malaysia Sdn Bhd in Kedah seeks a Process Team Lead/Engineer to guide and optimize our manufacturing processes.

You will manage a team of process engineers and technicians, drive efficiency improvements, and ensure safe, compliant operations in a high-tech lithium ion battery environment. A strong leader with 5–7 years in process engineering is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering.
• 5–7 years of experience in process engineering or related role.
• Proven experience leading engineering teams.
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, optimization, and lean/Six Sigma.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise a team of process engineers and technicians.
• Design, develop, and optimize manufacturing processes to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
• Conduct process audits and risk assessments; implement corrective actions.
• Collaborate with production, quality, and maintenance teams to ensure smooth execution.
• Monitor KPIs and document processes with SOPs and flowcharts.
• Troubleshoot process issues and participate in capital projects and new equipment integration.

About the role

We are seeking a Process Team Lead/Engineer to join our engineering team in Karangan, Kedah. This is a full-time position that offers a unique opportunity to lead and oversee process engineering initiatives within our organization. As Process Team Lead/Engineer, you will be responsible for managing process optimization, team coordination, and the delivery of engineering solutions that drive operational excellence. This role is pivotal to our continued growth and success in the process engineering sector.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and supervise a team of process engineers and technicians, providing technical guidance and mentorship
• Design, develop, and optimize manufacturing and operational processes to improve efficiency and reduce costs
• Conduct process audits and risk assessments to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including production, quality, and maintenance to ensure seamless process execution
• Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to track process performance and productivity
• Prepare technical documentation, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and process flowcharts
• Troubleshoot process-related issues and implement solutions to minimize downtime
• Participate in capital projects and new equipment integration to support process improvements
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations and company standards
• Train and develop team members to enhance technical competencies and professional growth

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline
• Minimum 5-7 years of experience in process engineering or a similar technical role
• Proven experience in leading and managing engineering teams
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, process optimization, and lean/Six Sigma methodologies
• Proficiency in process simulation software and computer-aided design (CAD) tools
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to make data-driven decisions
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively across departments
• Experience in implementing process improvements and managing continuous improvement initiatives
• Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental (HSE) requirements and compliance standards
• Familiarity with industrial automation and control systems is advantageous
• Certification in Lean or Six Sigma would be highly valued
