Job summary

Jora Malaysia is seeking an experienced Facility Electrical Engineer to manage and maintain the plant’s electrical systems and ensure reliable 24/7 operations.

You will oversee HV/MV/LV systems, perform preventive maintenance, monitor SCADA/PQMS, and coordinate inspections and handovers. Applicants should hold a Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering and have at least 5 years in facility electrical roles, with REM Type 1 certification.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain HV/MV/LV electrical systems, transformers, switchgear, busway, UPS, generators, protection and earthing systems.
• Perform preventive/predictive maintenance, troubleshooting, fault analysis, RCA and CAPA.
• Monitor Electrical SCADA, PQMS, power quality, electrical loading and energy consumption.
• Coordinate electrical inspections and ensure all findings are properly closed.
• Maintain electrical procedures, SLDs, drawings, checklists, LOTO records and test reports.
• Support electrical projects including design review, QA/QC, testing & commissioning, line walk, punch-list and handover.
• Manage energy performance and statutory compliance with Suruhanjaya Tenaga (ST).
• Coordinate maintenance activities for Electrical and Fire Fighting Systems.
• Manage contractors and support shutdowns, energization and emergency power recovery.
• Support EHS, HIRARC and ISO 14001/45001/50001 activities and audits.

Key Responsibilities

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years of Facility Electrical experience, preferably in semiconductor/high-tech manufacturing.
• Registered Energy Manager (REM) Type 1 certification is required; Type 2 is an advantage.
• Strong knowledge of HV/MV/LV electrical distribution, SCADA/PQMS, power quality, protection and energy management.
• Experience in electrical maintenance, troubleshooting, RCA/CAPA, T&C and project handover.
• Knowledge of ST requirements, electrical safety, LOTO/PTW and IEC/IEEE standards.
• Good communication, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Willing to support 24/7 plant operations and emergency response.
