Job summary

Meridian Maplestar Sdn Bhd is seeking a Facilities Technician to oversee preventive maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of building systems including air-conditioning, plumbing, CCTV, and fire safety. The role also involves managing infrastructure such as roofs and common areas, and coordinating with contractors and vendors to meet timelines and budgets.

Responsibilities include safety management, regular inspections, space optimization, and planning for future facility needs.

Qualifications

• Diploma or higher in Civil Engineering, Electrical, or a related field.
• 1–2 years’ experience in a related field; fresh graduates encouraged to apply.
• Strong project management and organizational skills.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics and technical documents.

Job description

Oversee preventive maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of building systems such as air-conditioning, plumbing, CCTV, and fire safety systems.

Manage and maintain building infrastructure including the roof, Passenger Hoist, and common areas.

Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and suppliers to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.

Monitor and maintain all safety protocols, ensuring the facility complies with local, state, and federal regulations.

Maintain safety records and conduct regular safety inspections.

Ensure that fire and safety systems are operational and compliant with regulations.

Oversee the utilization of building space and design layouts to optimize efficiency.

Plan for future facility needs and expansion.

Manage relationships with external vendors and service providers for maintenance and repairs.

Ensure vendor performance meets agreed-upon service levels and terms.

Respond to urgent facility issues or emergencies, providing effective solutions in a timely manner.

Ensure business continuity by addressing any disruptions caused by facility-related issues.

To comply with the safety standards and policies implemented by the Company at all times and be responsible for your safety as well as others without posing any threat, hazard, or endangerment wherever you will be when representing the Company.

Education & Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Diploma and above in Civil Engineering, Electrical, or a related field.

At least 1 to 2 years’ experience in related field (Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply).

Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documents.
