Job summary

Pet World International Group is seeking a proactive Assistant Manager / Manager to lead building maintenance, facilities management, and operational excellence across our facilities in Malaysia. You will oversee electrical, plumbing, HVAC, lighting, and repairs, drive preventive maintenance, manage service providers, and ensure safety and regulatory compliance while controlling costs.

You will guide a maintenance team, coordinate with Mandarin-speaking suppliers, and report on maintenance

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Building Maintenance, Facilities Management, Engineering, or a related field.
• Relevant experience in building maintenance, facility management, or a similar supervisory role.
• Good knowledge of building systems, electrical installations, plumbing, and air-conditioning.
• Strong leadership, problem-solving, coordination, and communication skills.
• Able to speak Mandarin for business communication with Mandarin-speaking stakeholders.
• Hands-on, responsible, organised, and proactive in handling maintenance matters.
• Able to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily building maintenance including electrical systems, plumbing, HVAC, lighting and general repairs.
• Develop and monitor preventive maintenance schedules to minimise breakdowns and repair costs.
• Coordinate contractors, suppliers and service providers for repairs, inspections and maintenance works.
• Assist in supervising maintenance team, assigning tasks, and ensuring work is completed efficiently.
• Ensure maintenance activities comply with safety standards, regulatory requirements and company policies.
