Job summary

PERSOL Malaysia is seeking a QA Engineer in manufacturing to ensure the first produced item meets design and quality specifications and to document QA data and processes.

You will conduct FAI, Cpk/GR&R/MSA analyses, APQP/PPAP compliance, and coordinate with FA Technicians, QC, and production to prevent non-conformities and drive cost reductions. 3+ years of relevant experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum SPM or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in quality assurance in manufacturing (metal stamping, sheet metal, or plastics).
• Familiarity with APQP and PPAP requirements.
• Hands-on experience with 8D, FMEA, SPC, MSA, and other QC methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Ensure first-piece QA documentation and data control.
• Conduct analysis and reporting of internal and external quality performance.
• Assist QA Engineers in analyzing quality issues and implement containment and corrective actions.
• Identify actions to prevent non-conformities in internal processes and products.
• Train FA Technicians when necessary.
• Conduct FAI, Cpk, GR&R, and MSA analyses during NPI.
• Coordinate ECR and PPAP activities with QA Manager.
• Review and approve supplier QI samples and supervise measurement instructions.

• Responsible for ensuring that the first produced item in a manufacturing process meets specified design and quality standards.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Responsible for first-piece QA documentation and data control.
• Conduct analysis and reporting of internal and external quality performance.
• Assist QA Engineers in analyzing quality issues reported by customers, QC, and production teams, and implement containment and corrective actions.
• Identify and initiate actions to prevent non-conformities related to internal processes and products.
• Train FA Technicians when necessary.
• Conduct FAI, Cpk studies, GR&R, and MSA analyses during New Product Introduction (NPI).
• Assist the QA Manager in coordinating Engineering Change Requests (ECR) and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) activities.
• Review, conduct necessary testing, and approve Quality Inspection (QI) samples submitted by suppliers.
• Supervise the preparation of measurement work instructions, procedures, and part inspection plans.
• Conduct analysis of quality issues identified by FA Technicians and coordinate with relevant departments to resolve them.
• Recommend cost-reduction initiatives through quality improvement activities.
• Prepare and review PPAP documentation.
• Understand customer requirements and communicate them effectively to all relevant departments.
• Perform any other duties as assigned by the superior.

Job Requirements

• Minimum SPM or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent qualification.
• Work Experience
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant working experience, preferably in metal stamping, sheet metal fabrication, or plastic injection molding.
• Familiarity with APQP and PPAP requirements.
• Knowledge of Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) operations.
• Hands-on experience with quality tools such as 8D, FMEA, SPC, MSA, and other QC methodologies.
