We are seeking an experienced and hands-on F&B Project Manager to oversee restaurant construction, renovation and refurbishment projects from initial planning through opening and operational handover. The successful candidate will coordinate internal stakeholders, designers, consultants, contractors, suppliers, landlords and relevant authorities to ensure every project is delivered safely, on time, within budget and in accordance with the company’s operational and brand requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Planning and Delivery
Manage new restaurant openings, renovations, reinstatements and improvement projects from concept to completion.
Develop detailed project schedules, milestones, budgets and implementation plans.
Monitor progress closely, identify potential delays and implement corrective actions.
Conduct regular site inspections and ensure that works meet approved drawings, specifications and quality standards.
Manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously. Design and Technical Coordination
Review layout plans, technical drawings, material selections and design proposals.
Coordinate architectural, interior design, kitchen, mechanical and electrical, plumbing, fire-safety and building requirements.
Use AutoCAD and SketchUp to review, interpret and make basic amendments to drawings.
Ensure designs are practical for restaurant operations, maintenance, customer flow, food safety and employee efficiency.
Coordinate submissions, approvals and requirements with landlords, consultants and relevant Singapore authorities.
Budget, Procurement and Cost Control
Prepare and manage project budgets, cost estimates and cash-flow requirements.
Source and evaluate quotations from contractors, consultants and suppliers.
Review variation orders, payment claims and project expenses.
Negotiate commercially sound solutions while maintaining quality, safety and operational standards.
Provide regular cost updates and promptly highlight potential budget overruns.
Contractor and Stakeholder Management
Coordinate contractors, vendors, consultants and internal departments throughout each project.
Lead project meetings and maintain clear records of decisions, responsibilities and deadlines.
Communicate progress, risks and required decisions to management and key stakeholders.
Ensure contractors comply with workplace safety, building-management and project-site requirements.
Operational Readiness and Handover
Work closely with Operations, Culinary, Marketing and Procurement teams to prepare each outlet for opening.
Coordinate equipment installation, testing, commissioning, defect rectification and final inspections.
Ensure permits, licences, warranties, operating manuals and handover documents are properly completed.
Manage the defects-liability period and follow up on outstanding issues.
Support facilities maintenance and improvement works after project completion.
Jobs Requirements:
At least 3 years of relevant experience managing F&B construction, renovation or restaurant-opening projects.
Experience with restaurant groups, franchises or multi-outlet F&B operations is highly advantageous.
Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD and SketchUp.
Proven ability to manage project schedules, budgets, contractors and multiple stakeholders.
Good understanding of restaurant layouts, kitchen requirements, building services and facilities maintenance.
Familiarity with Malaysia building, fire-safety, food-shop licensing and landlord requirements is preferred.
Strong communication, negotiation, problem-solving and organisational skills.
Willingness to conduct site visits and work outside standard office hours when project schedules require it.
