Job summary

Shipco Transport Inc. in Johor Bahru is seeking an Export Coordinator to support day-to-day customer inquiries, liaise with carriers, warehouses, and stakeholders, and monitor shipments from booking to cargo arrival.

You will ensure adherence to SOPs, handle rate inquiries, arrange bookings, communicate in English, and contribute to documentation, tracing, and internal coordination with sales and documentation teams.

Qualifications

• Proficient in English for customer communication and documentation.
• Basic knowledge of NVOCC business and freight operations.

Responsibilities

• Attend local and overseas customer inquiries regarding rates and bookings.
• Promptly respond to booking confirmations and monitor shipments until cargo arrival.
• Prepare bookings and support local customers with tele-marketing activities.
• Coordinate with carriers on container status and vessel changes.
• Collaborate with warehouse, truckers, and shippers to ensure timely updates.
• Ensure necessary shipping documents are prepared within deadlines.
• Coordinate internally with sales and documentation teams.

Description

The main function of this role is to assist customer in day-to-day, liaise with carrier, transporter, warehouse operator, fumigation, and ad-hoc task. Monitoring customer support, quotation and maintaining the volume and trade lane

Ensure all procedures and time frames to be followed as per agreed SOPs and workflows & must be always adhered to.

Key Responsibilities

• Attending to local and overseas customer’s inquiries pertaining to rates
• Respond promptly to customers’ inquiries on booking confirmation, and shipment follow up sailing confirmation, continuous monitoring of shipment till cargo arrival
• Responsible for bookings preparation and tele- marketing for local customer cargoes.
• Booking arrangement and follow up container status with carriers of containers.
• Dealing with warehouse over container status (change of vessels/departure date etc).
• Preparation of railing instructions and liaising with warehouse/truckers
• Follow up with shippers of any discrepancy in packages.
• Ensure all necessary shipping documents are in place within the given time frame
• Coordinate internally with sales and documentation team

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

• Proficient in Microsoft Office
• Preferably with 1 year similar experience in the Ocean / Air freight industries
• Basic knowledgeable in NVOCC business will be an added advantage
• Able to communicate and write in English
