Job summary

Jaya Grocer is seeking a dedicated Recruitment Specialist to develop and implement strategies for blue-collar and retail operations hiring across our Malaysian outlets. You will manage the end-to-end recruitment process, including sourcing, screening, tests, reference checks, and collaboration with hiring managers to fulfil manpower requirements in a timely and effective manner.

Get to know the role

Develop and implement recruitment strategies to attract qualified candidates, with a primary focus on blue-collar and retail operations hiring. Manage the end-to-end recruitment process, including candidate sourcing, screening, and selection to fulfil manpower requirements across retail outlets and operational functions in a timely and effective manner.

Key Responsibilities

• Meets with the hiring manager to obtain understanding of the job description and ascertain minimum and preferred qualifications.
• Responsible for sourcing and attracting suitable candidates, primarily for blue-collar and retail operations positions. Conduct candidate screening and assessment to ensure applicants meet the job requirements, while supporting timely and effective fulfilment of manpower needs across retail outlets and operational functions.
• Determines the job-skill sets for the job and determine the interview questions to verify with candidates.
• Interview potential candidates and select the most qualified for further review as necessary by hiring managers.
• Administer or coordinate validated pre-employment test.
• Conduct reference checks on selected candidates, before offer of employment.
• Establish and maintain rapport with Government agencies, Universities, Schools and Colleges for recruiting plans for graduates and school leaver candidates.
• Identify placement for new hiring candidates based on the vacancies available in outlets.
• Conduct exit interviews to determine reason for resignation, and apprise company management for any significant trend, such as performance problems, training and career pathing and pay practices.
• Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.

You should have

• Candidates must possess a Diploma or Bachelor Degree in Human Resource Management or relevant discipline.
• At least 2 year(s) of working experience specializing in the recruitment field.
• Experience in mass hiring within the retail industry, particularly in managing blue-collar recruitment, will be an added advantage.
• Candidates must have Recruiters/ Executive Search background with shown track record of closing opening vacancies.
• Good command of spoken and written English & Bahasa Malaysia. Mandarin is a plus.
• Meticulous, proactive and independent.
• Able to work independently with minimum supervisions.
