Job summary

Sunway Malls in Malaysia is seeking an Interior Design/Fit-out Coordinator to review tenant concepts, provide design directions, and coordinate fit-out works with tenants and their designers. You will conduct regular site visits, ensure compliance with mall regulations, and liaise with Leasing, Technical teams, and external consultants.

The role requires a Bachelor degree in Architecture/Interior Design, at least 2 years of relevant experience, and strong English and Bahasa Melayu skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor Degree, Postgraduate Diploma, or Professional Degree in Architecture, Interior Design, or equivalent.
• Exposure to current design trends preferably in retail or commercial designs.
• Possess creative aptitude and proficiency in design software and tools.
• Competent in written and spoken English and Bahasa Melayu.
• Ability to manage several design & fit-out projects simultaneously.
• Good interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team.

Responsibilities

• Comment and review tenant concept design submissions for outlets.
• Provide design directions and store planning advice to tenants and their appointed designers.
• Coordinate hands-on fit-out coordination works with the tenant’s fit-out team.
• Regular site visits to verify works are in accordance with submissions and mall regulations.
• Conduct inspections with tenants and supervisor upon project completion before business commencement.
• Coordinate with Leasing and Technical teams and external parties (Architect, M&E consultants) to resolve landlord provisions and tenant requests.
• Update mall master plan, tenancy plans, and landlord provisions schedule to ensure accuracy.
• Prepare study plans and related drawings based on leasing requests.
• Submit regular progress reports on fit-out projects, including challenges, delays, and resolutions to mall management.

• Performs hands-on fit-out coordination works with the tenant’s fit-out team.
• Regular site visits to monitor and verify that all works are done in accordance with approved submissions and compliance with mall regulations.
• Set & perform inspection with tenant and superior upon completion of each project prior to business commencements
• Coordination between internal departments (Leasing Team, Technical Team) & external parties ( Architect, M&E consultant) to ensure all necessary landlord provisions and tenant’s requests and issues are resolved.
• Regularly update on mall master plan, tenancy plans, and landlord provision schedule, ensure the info is accurate & up to date.
• To prepare study plan and related drawing based on leasing request.
• Prepare and submit regular reports on the progress of fit-out projects, including any challenges, delays, and resolutions to mall management.

Requirement :

• Minimum Bachelor Degree, Postgraduate Diploma, or Professional Degree in Architecture, Interior Design, or equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience.
• Exposure to current design trends preferably in retail or commercial designs.
• Possess creative aptitude and proficiency in design software and tools.
• Competent in written and spoken English and Bahasa Melayu. Competence in vernacular languages such as Chinese and Tamil would be an added advantage.
• Ability to manage several design & fit-out projects simultaneously.
