Job summary

SUNWAY WANGSAWALK is seeking an experienced Interior Architect/Designer to coordinate tenant fit-outs in our Kuala Lumpur mall. You will manage submissions, provide design direction, and ensure compliance with mall guidelines and safety standards.

Responsibilities include site inspections, final checks before store openings, and supporting mall improvement projects. A minimum 2 years in retail/commercial design, and proficiency in design software, are required; English and Bahasa Melayu are

Qualifications

• Bachelor-level or higher in Architecture, Interior Design, or equivalent.
• At least 2 years of relevant experience.
• Experience with retail or commercial design trends preferred.
• Proficient in design software and tools.
• Strong English and Bahasa Melayu communication; additional Chinese/Tamil a plus.

Coordinate and manage tenant fit-out works, providing hands‑on support to tenants and their appointed designers.

Review and comment on tenant design submissions, ensuring compliance with mall guidelines and approved standards.

Provide design direction, store planning advice, and resolve fit‑out‑related issues with internal teams (Leasing, Procurement, Facility Management).

Conduct regular site inspections to ensure works are carried out according to approved plans, mall regulations, and safety requirements.

Perform final inspections with tenants prior to store opening and business commencement.

Support mall improvement, enhancement, and expansion projects as assigned.

Maintain and update mall master plans, tenancy layouts, and landlord provision schedules.

Ensure compliance with company policies, safety requirements, and personal data protection regulations.

Carry out any other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

• Minimum Bachelor Degree, Postgraduate Diploma, or Professional Degree in Architecture, Interior Design, or equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience.
• Exposure to current design trends preferably in retail or commercial designs.
• Possess creative aptitude and proficiency in design software and tools.
• Competent in written and spoken English and Bahasa Melayu. Competence in vernacular languages such as Chinese and Tamil would be an added advantage.
• Good interpersonal skills and demonstrates an ability to work in a team
