Job summary

Xiamen University Malaysia (XMUM) is seeking an Executive - Media and Communications Office to produce photography content for the university's website and social media, cover major events, and support promotional campaigns.

The role involves coordinating with the communications team, mentoring student reporters, and managing archives and equipment. A diploma or degree in related field and a strong photography portfolio are required; experience in event/portrait/campus photography is preferred.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in a related field
• Demonstrated photography experience with a portfolio
• Experience in event, portrait, campus or lifestyle photography
• Good understanding of composition, lighting, exposure and visual storytelling
• Proficient in photo editing software and comfortable operating DSLR/mirrorless cameras and basic photography equipment
• Responsible, organized and able to work independently, communicate effectively and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Produce photography content for the University's website and social media platforms, including event coverage, campus stories, portraits, promotional campaigns and university communications
• Provide photography coverage for university events, including Convocation, ceremonies, talks and other institutional events
• Capture campus, landscape and lifestyle photography for the University's communications and promotional materials
• Work with the communications team to develop suitable visual approaches for different stories and campaigns
• Coordinate and mentor student reporters in photography and event coverage, including assigning tasks, providing shooting guidance and reviewing their work
• Manage and organize photographs, archives and photography equipment, and work outside regular office hours when required
