Job summary

SUN PHARMA in Malaysia is seeking a production engineer to coordinate daily manufacturing activities at our Sungai Petani facility. The role spans Fabrication, Compression, Coating and Encapsulation, ensuring smooth 24-hour operations and effective handoffs between shifts.

The ideal candidate has a degree or diploma in engineering or pharmacy, 3–5 years in pharmaceutical manufacturing, and solid knowledge of granulation, compression, coating and encapsulation processes, with familiarity with GMP

Qualifications

• Degree/Diploma in Engineering, Pharmacy, or related field.
• 3-5 years’ experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing.
• Good knowledge of granulation, compression, coating and encapsulation processes.
• Familiar with GMP and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily production planning and execution (Fabrication/Compression/Coating/Encapsulation).
• Ensure smooth shift operations and coordination across 24-hour continuous production.
• Monitor process performance, output, efficiency, and downtime.
• Ensure adherence to SOPs and GMP compliance.
• Support process troubleshooting and deviation investigation.
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance productivity (Kaizen, OEE etc).
• Conduct training and ensure operator competency.
• Monitor absenteeism and support discipline management at shop floor.

Education

Degree/Diploma in Engineering, Pharmacy, or related field
