Responsibilities

• Assist the head of plant/R&D to ensure effective management and control of the technical department.
• Coordinate problem solving and communication across departments to achieve targets.
• Prepare monthly activity reports for the head of department.
• Identify and source subcontractors for cost-down activities.
• Develop subcontractor quality and technical activities.
• Plan and monitor product development & tooling progress for new models to ensure smooth mass production.
• Monitor development progress to meet schedule and localization targets.
• Respond promptly to design problems and lead countermeasure activities.
• Study designs, develop new samples for customer approval and supplier discussions.
• Arrange localization samples for evaluation, inspection and design verification.
• IATF16949 and ISO14001 procedures implemented and maintained at all levels.
• Enforce company policies, rules and regulations.

Job description

Objective: The Executive (Engineer), Technical is responsible for executing, coordinating, and supervising the department’s operations in alignment with the company’s objectives and vision. The role encompasses product design and development, testing, troubleshooting, process and quality improvement, and the resolution of engineering-related issues. The position is also responsible for ensuring that products meet the required quality, reliability, performance, and technical standards while supporting continuous improvement and operational efficiency.

What we're looking for:

Key Responsibilities

To assist the head of plant/R&D to ensure the effective management and control of technical department.

To assist the head of department in managing and implementing the smooth coordination and communication of all departments with respect to problem solving and achieving the target set.

To prepare monthly activity report and submit to head of department.

To identify and source for sub-contractor for cost down activities.

To develop sub-contractor quality and technical activities.

To plan, prepare and check, monitoring on product development & tooling progress schedule for any new model or product for ensuring a smooth progression until mass production (development schedule, internal, and external documents.

To monitor and ensure the overall development progress as per schedule and within target and meet technical (localization).

To response immediately on any design problem and lead the problem solving and countermeasure activities.

To study on design, develop new sample for customer approval and discussion with supplier.

To arrange sample (localization) for evaluation, inspection and design verification (meeting & discussion).

To ensure that the procedures of IATF16949 and ISO14001 are implemented and maintained at all levels.

To enforce, ensure and implement the company's policies, rules and regulations.

Education :

Bachelor's Degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or a related field is the minimum requirements.

Professional Experience :

2+ years of hands-on experience in new product development and cross-functional collaboration is preferred.

Fresh graduates are welcome to apply and will be considered based on their technical knowledge, problem-solving skills, and willingness to learn.

Interpret and prepare technical drawings, including understanding dimensions, tolerances, specifications, and engineering requirements.

Investigate and resolve product-related problems, including customer claims, production rejections, and defective parts, particularly those related to design.

Apply knowledge of automotive systems and components to identify basic functional and technical issues.

Perform basic testing and inspection using testing equipment, mechanical tools, and measuring instruments such as vernier calipers, multimeters, and other relevant tools.

Analyse test and inspection results to identify root causes and recommend appropriate corrective actions.

Collaborate with production, quality, and other technical teams to troubleshoot problems and implement effective solutions.

Support product improvement activities by providing technical input based on testing, inspection, and problem-solving findings.

Proficiency in multiple languages is an added advantage, particularly for effective communication and collaboration with customers, suppliers, and cross-functional teams.
