Objective: To lead and manage end-to-end production operations by ensuring efficient production planning, optimal resource utilization, and the achievement of production targets while maintaining high standards of quality, cost, safety, and delivery. The role is responsible for driving operational excellence, coordinating cross-functional activities, implementing continuous improvement initiatives, and developing a high-performing production team to support business objectives and customer satisfaction.
Key accountabilities:
- Overseeing the entire production process, from planning to completion
- Ensuring production are met while maintaining quality standards
- Managing production schedules and resource allocation
- Monitoring production costs and implementing cost-saving strategies
- The effective management and control of production function (quality, cost & delivery) and operation
- Ensures the fulfillment of production targets at acceptable quality and cost
- Ensures all manufacturing resources are fully and efficiently utilized according to APM Manufacturing System (AMS) standards
- Ensures all products meet customer specifications and achieve the desired customer satisfaction
- Ensures all ancillary services including 4M in the production area, machinery and tools are properly maintained to ensure the safety and efficient running of the workplace
- Lead good housekeeping and 5S to promote quality awareness, a safe working environment and enhance employee morale
- Ensures the proper planning of local and import raw materials, WWIP and Finished Goods are properly stored in the production area is in control
- Ensures effective implementation of quality system procedures
- Create, maintain and distribute the Production Master Schedule to forecast upcoming work following the master planning schedule from the PPCD department
- Coordinate job status and new project/program requirements throughout the plant
- Work with Production Engineering and Maintenance department to resolve bottlenecks and work stoppages and manage the flow of materials and completion of work
- Coordinate with Purchasing and Operation team to resolve 4M issues and minimize adverse impact on deadlines
- Engage employees and communicate clearly and effectively. Coach, train, develop, counsel and mentor all employees, regardless of role, reporting or function
- Perform any other duties and responsibilities as and when assigned by superior
Job Requirements
- Bachelor Degree in Engineering/Manufacturing/Industrial
- Minimum 8 years of experience in a production or manufacturing environment, with at least 5 years in a leadership or managerial role.
- Experience with inventory management, supply chain management, and quality control systems.
- Previous experience in automotive manufacturing or a similar high-volume, precision-focused industry is preferred.
- ISO 9001, ISO/TS 16949, ISO 14001 Internal Auditor or Lead Auditor Certification.
