Job summary

CHEC CONSTRUCTION (M) SDN BHD is seeking an experienced equipment operator to safely operate excavators and vibro gear at construction sites. You will perform earthworks, piling, and related tasks while conducting pre-start checks and adhering to site procedures.

Applicants should have 2–3 years of relevant experience, a valid DOSH-recognised licence, and the ability to work with the site team. Overtime and weekend work may be required depending on the project.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2–3 years of experience operating excavators and vibro equipment, preferably in construction.
• Experience in excavation, earthwork, piling, or ground improvement works.
• Competency certificate/licence recognised by DOSH (JKKP), where applicable.
• Competency certificate/licence must be currently valid and not expired.

Responsibilities

• Operate excavator and vibro equipment safely and efficiently at construction sites.
• Carry out excavation, earthwork, material handling, piling, and vibro-related activities as instructed.
• Conduct daily pre-start inspections and basic checks of the equipment.
• Operate the equipment according to the manufacturer's procedures and site requirements.
• Ensure the equipment is properly positioned and operated safely before starting work.
• Follow instructions from the Site Supervisor, Foreman, or Plant Manager.
• Work closely with site workers, signalmen and other operators during operations.
• Monitor equipment condition and report defects, abnormal noise, leakage, or other problems.
• Maintain the cleanliness and basic condition of the equipment.
• Record daily equipment operation and working hours where required.
• Ensure safe working distances are maintained from workers, structures, utilities, and other equipment.
• Comply with all site safety, environmental and traffic requirements.
• Perform other duties related to plant and equipment operations as assigned.

Job Requirements

Minimum 2–3 years of experience operating excavators and vibro equipment, preferably in the construction or infrastructure industry.

Experienced in excavation, earthwork, piling, or ground improvement works.

Possess a relevant operator competency certificate/licence recognised by DOSH (JKKP), where applicable.

Competency certificate/licence must be currently valid and not expired at the time of employment.

Good knowledge of equipment operation, safety procedures, and basic maintenance.

Able to follow instructions and work effectively with the site team.

Responsible, safety-conscious, and able to work independently.

Willing to work overtime, weekends, and public holidays when required by the project.
