Job summary

CHEC CONSTRUCTION (M) SDN BHD is seeking a Railway Operations Coordinator to coordinate maintenance activities, monitor rail vehicle movements, and ensure safe and efficient railway operations in our Malaysia projects.

You will liaise with relevant departments to obtain information on maintenance works, weather updates, and operational notices, and maintain accurate records and shift handovers. Fresh graduates are welcome to apply.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Railway Engineering, Transportation, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• Strong organisational, coordination and communication skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and respond effectively to operational incidents and emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and monitor maintenance activities and rail vehicle movements.
• Liaise with relevant departments to obtain information on maintenance works, rail vehicle operations and work site activities.
• Monitor weather forecasts and communicate adverse weather information to relevant departments.
• Receive, record, communicate and follow up on operational notices, instructions and other assignments.
• Maintain accurate operational records, dispatch logs and reports, and submit required documentation in a timely manner.
• Conduct comprehensive shift handovers, including operational status, weather conditions, maintenance activities and other critical information.
• Comply with company safety procedures and applicable railway operating standards.
• Perform other duties assigned by the supervisor.

Education

Job description

Coordinate and monitor engineering maintenance activities, work site access, rail maintenance vehicle movements and material transportation to ensure safe and efficient railway operations.

Liaise with relevant departments to obtain information on maintenance works, rail vehicle operations and work site activities, and promptly coordinate operational issues.

Monitor weather forecasts and promptly communicate adverse weather information to relevant departments to facilitate preventive measures.

Receive, record, communicate and follow up on operational notices, instructions and other assignments issued by the Company or relevant authorities.

Maintain accurate operational records, dispatch logs and reports, and submit required documentation in a timely manner.

Conduct comprehensive shift handovers, including operational status, weather conditions, maintenance activities, rail maintenance vehicle movements, outstanding issues and other critical operational information.

Comply with company safety procedures and applicable railway operating standards.

Perform other duties assigned by the supervisor.

Job Requirements:

Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Railway Engineering, Transportation, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.

Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply. Candidates with internship or industrial training experience in railway operations, maintenance coordination, engineering vehicle operations or construction projects will have an added advantage.

Basic knowledge of railway operation and maintenance coordination. Basic understanding of railway engineering maintenance procedures and railway safety requirements. Good organisational, coordination and communication skills. Ability to work under pressure and respond effectively to operational incidents and emergencies.

Good communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia.

Strong sense of responsibility and attention to detail.

Good analytical and problem-solving skills.

Good teamwork and communication skills.

Willing to work on shifts, including weekends and public holidays when required.
