Job summary

Kah Progression Auto, a subsidiary of Kah Motor Company, invites applications for an EV technician/foreman to diagnose and repair EV systems at an authorized dealership in Malaysia. You will perform maintenance, handle high-voltage safety, and communicate repair timelines to customers.

Requirements include a Diploma/Degree in Automotive Engineering, 2–5+ years in a car workshop, EV training as a plus, English for training, a valid driver’s license, and availability to join soon.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in automotive engineering or equivalent.
• 2–5+ years as technician/foreman in an authorized car workshop dealership.
• EV-specific training or certification is an added advantage (e.g., Tesla, EV programs).
• Strong knowledge of EV systems including high-voltage batteries, drivetrains and electronics.
• Ability to comprehend English for training and tests.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair electric vehicle systems, including battery packs, inverters, motors, and charging systems.
• Perform routine maintenance tasks such as tire rotations, brake servicing and software updates.
• Inspect and test EV components using diagnostic equipment and manufacturer software.
• Handle high-voltage components following safety protocols.
• Communicate with service advisors and customers regarding issues and repair timelines.
• Stay updated with EV technology, training and certifications.
• Maintain records of diagnostics, repairs and parts used.

Candidate Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Automotive engineering or equivalent
• Strong experience as a technician / foreman in authorized car workshop dealership (at least 2-5 years and above)
• EV-specific training or certification is an added advantage (e.g., Tesla, Ford EV, GM EV, or equivalent)
• Strong knowledge of EV systems, including high-voltage batteries, electric drivetrains, and electronic control systems
• Able to comprehend English to undergo training & test
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
• Ability to follow strict safety procedures related to high-voltage systems
• Able to join as soon as possible (around 1 month's time)

Job Description

Diagnose and repair electric vehicle systems, including battery packs, inverters, motors, and charging systems.

Perform routine maintenance tasks such as tire rotations, brake servicing, and software updates.

Inspect and test EV components using diagnostic equipment and manufacturer-specific software.

Safely handle high-voltage components in accordance with safety protocols.

Communicate effectively with service advisors and customers about vehicle issues and repair timelines.

Stay current with EV technology advancements, training, and certifications.

Maintain accurate records of diagnostics, repairs, and parts used.

Ensure a clean, organized, and safe work environment and proper inventory of work tools

Ensure that all work done is following SOP and training

Complete all tasks in job sheet within the lead time

Ensure that customer's vehicle is well taken care of
